Mondo, the collectible art division of Alamo Drafthouse Cinema, is excited to announce the release of Jerry Goldsmith’s Poltergeist score on limited edition vinyl.

Combining a love for film music and beautiful artistic renderings, Mondo commissioned original cover art from We Buy YourKids, the duo of Australian illustrators Sonny Day and Biddy Maroney.  The Poltergeist 2-disc vinyl will be available for purchase for $25 on February 22nd via MondoTees.com andwill include a small portion of randomly inserted clear vinyl copies.  The full track list appears inside and includes 5 tracks never before released on vinyl.

Belgium-based One Way Static Records will release the original motion picture soundtrack from Wes Craven's 1972 shocker The Last House on the Left this year.  The score was composed and performed by the late David Hess and this release will be fully dedicated to his memory, life and career as both an actor and musician who passed in 2011.

The label teamed up with director Wes Craven, producer Sean Cunningham and the Hess family to make the release possible.

Expect the package to contain the full original score which will be available on a deluxe gatefold vinyl edition with printed inner sleeve.  A Digipack CD version and Digital Download, with digital booklet, will be included as well.

Over the holiday break, I became the owner of a record player again.  (Fun fact: I haven't owned one since, well, middle school.)  This is great because now it has opened me up to a whole new world in terms of re-issues of incredible soundtracks, furthermore, I can finally enjoy the Maniac and Insidious scores I've owned on vinyl.
