Monday, March 25, 2013

Over the course of her 30-year career, producer Gale Anne Hurd has been involved with many fan favorite genre properties from Terminator to Marvel's Hulk and The Punisher, but few could have seen that only her second foray into television as executive producer of an AMC TV show - based on Robert Kirkman and Charlie Adlard's zombie comic The Walking Dead - would overshadow some of her previous achievements as a producer.

This coming Sunday, March 31st, season three of the show will come to a close.  This season brought in popular comic characters like Michonne and The Governor while creating a season-long conflict between the inhabitants of the prison and those of Woodbury.

ShockTillYouDrop.com used this opportunity to get on the phone with Hurd for a quick interview, mostly to talk about things that have happened over the past two seasons since we last spoke.

Exclusive Shock Interview: The Walking Dead's Milton, Dallas Roberts

Monday, November 12, 2012

This season of AMC's The Walking Dead has been fairly pivotal in the way it's been introducing elements from Robert Kirkman and Charlie Adlard's popular comics, for instance, bringing the group of survivors to a large maximum security prison and also introducing the Governor, played by David Morrissey, the counterpart to Andrew Lincoln's Rick over at another community known as Woodbury. (And if you aren't caught up on the the show or haven't read the comics, we'll advise you not read this piece in order to avoid spoilers for the third season so far.)

Anyone who's read the comics knows that the Governor has far more nefarious plans for the "walkers" (or "biters" as the folks at Woodbury likes to call them) and working with the Governor to achieve his yet-to-be-revealed goal is a scientist named Milton, played by Dallas Roberts, another element that hasn't appeared in the comics. We first met Milton in the fourth episode of the season, "Walk with Me," and in the most recent episode "Say the Word," we saw Milton tangling with a "walker" out in the field and showing distaste for Woodbury's choice in recreational pastimes.

Red Carpet Premiere: Shock Talks to the Cast & Crew of The Walking Dead Season 3

Friday, October 05, 2012

Shock Till You Drop hit the red carpet premiere of The Walking Dead season 3 last night at the Universal CityWalk (near Universal Studios Hollywood) and we had a chance to speak with the cast and crew about what we can expect when the season kicks off on AMC October 14th.

This writer had a chance to catch the first two episodes of season 3 and I can say that it starts out very strong and very bloody.  Episode one alone has the most zombie-killing action we've ever seen on he show and Rick's continued transformation is great.  Picking up many months after season 2, the series opener finds Rick and the other survivors discovering the prison hinted at in the last season, meanwhile, Michonne (the samurai sword-wielding stranger) and Andrea struggle to survive on their own in the woods.

Here are some of the highlights from the red carpet which include the producers teasing us about what's to come during the mid-season finale, Chandler Riggs on his newfound Internet meme popularity, the major increase in zombie action and more.

The Walking Dead Season 3 Will Be Broken In Two

Friday, August 10, 2012
