Wes Craven Addresses Scream TV Series Talk

Wes Craven took to Twitter to address the Scream television series in the works at MTV.  Last week, when the news broke, it was revealed Craven was in talks to helm the pilot.

"A lot of you have asked about the Scream TV series," he said via Twitter.  "It's true I've been approached.  My response was, it would depend on the script.  If they have a great script/concept, it could be fun.  If not, not."

This has been his usual response concerning any involvement in the future of the Scream franchise.

Scream Television Series Pilot Gets the Green Light

MTV is moving forward with a pilot based on the Scream franchise.  Yes, that proposed Scream television show may actually happen.

According to Deadline, the network revealed the pilot - reported about back in June 2012 - at its upfront presentation today.  

Here's the rub: The pilot no further along in development than it was a year ago.

Scream Documentary Gets 2-Disc Bonus Feature Package

Two years back saw the release of my Scream trilogy documentary, Still Screaming.  Miramax picked it up, bumped it over to Lionsgate Home Entertainment who, in turn, packaged the documentary in the 5-disc Scream Blu-ray collection.  What no one knows is that the doc's producer, Anthony Masi, and myself had four hours of bonus content that we wanted to share with the world that was never released with that collection.

So, we packaged it ourselves and are now making it available.  Beginning this weekend, pre-orders have begun on the independently-released Still Screaming bonus features: A two-disc collection containing that promised four hours of content.

Wes Craven Addresses Scream 5, Future of the Series

Wes Craven was down in Austin, Texas for SXSW and our pals at Arrow in the Head caught up with the director who has been rather quiet since the release of Scream 4.  Following the debut of the sequel, there has been very little buzz about a Scream 5 but there were rumblings of an MTV series that have never really come to fruition since the rumors hit the web.

So, what's the word on the street?  Does Craven have any updates?

MTV is developing a TV series based on the "Scream" film franchise, reports TV Line.

The site says that former MTV executives Tony DiSanto and Liz Gateley are looking for a writer to pen the pilot, but says that it is unclear if Wes Craven and Kevin Williamson are involved at all.
