ComingSoon.net and ShockTillYouDrop.com are currently in London for the junket and premiere of Ridley Scott’s Prometheus, something we can’t say too much about just yet unfortunately, but we know how excited everyone is for this movie, so we’re kicking off a week of Prometheus stuff with an interview with co-screenwriter Jon Spaihts, who was involved with the early stages of making the movie happen.

Spaihts is a screenwriter who has been very much demand in recent years, mainly due to his screenplay for an outer space adventure called Passengers for Keanu Reeves that made the 2007 screenplay Black List - an industry award given to the best unproduced spec screenplays each year - but has still yet to be produced. Since then, Spaihts worked on the screenplay for last year’s The Darkest Hour, and the anticipation for Ridley Scott returning to the world of his early film Alien in Prometheus has gotten even more people in Hollywood interested in Spaihts’ work.

A new international poster for Ridley Scott's Prometheus has a lot of people buzzing this morning, not because it features some new artwork...but it might contain a big spoiler.

20th Century Fox has released another viral video - akin to the Next Generation David ad - connected to Prometheus.  This time, you're getting a look at a classified Prometheus crew video file featuring Elizabeth Shaw, played by Noomi Rapace.  Take a look...

I'm not really sure how much more of Prometheus you want to see before the film's release on June 8th, but it's our job to share and report on every little thing that floats out there.  This morning, a new TV spot for Ridley Scott's has hit and it is filled with slimy, slithering critters.

Starring Noomi Rapace, Michael Fassbender, Guy Pearce, Idris Elba, Logan Marshall-Green and Charlize Theron, the sci-fi thriller hits 3D, 2D and IMAX 3D theaters on June 8. The movie was written by Damon Lindelof, Jon Spaihts and Scott.

After she completed The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo trilogy and before Prometheus, Noomi Rapace tackled a supernatural thriller called Babycall.  That film is being re-titled for its U.S. release to The Monitor and it's coming to DVD July 24th from Lionsgate Home Entertainment.

After escaping an abusive husband, Anna (Rapace) and her 8-year-old son move far away to a secret location.  Terrified that her ex-husband will find them, she buys a baby monitor to keep in her son’s room at all times - but she soon discovers strange noises echoing through the monitor from elsewhere in the building.  As she witnesses the sounds of what she believes is another child being murdered, she fears the worst – that it’s her own son.  Reliving the nightmare she recently escaped, Anna will need to figure out what’s real and what isn’t before she loses her sanity and her child.

The DVD will come with deleted scenes.

A pre-sale ticket stub for Ridley Scott's Prometheus has revealed that the film apparently has received an R rating from the MPAA.  For those who get flustered over ratings, this should appease you.

Update: Prometheus is indeed rated R for "sci-fi violence including some intense images, and brief language."

As if the featurettes, trailers and photos were not enough, Twentieth Century Fox is now getting you riled up about Prometheus (opening June 8th) with some audio.  This morning, an audio puzzle was apparently released by the studio.  The clip was played in reverse, but it didn't take long for the audio to hit You Tube in its proper presentation.  Inside, listen to a clip from the film in all of its creepy glory.  

What are we listening to?  Sounds like a crew member of the Prometheus is encountering something not so friendly...

20th Century Fox has released another featurette that looks at the making of Ridley Scott's Prometheus.  Is there new footage?  Possibly.  I wish I could tell you, but I've gone on a blackout with this title.  Honestly, I feel like I've seen too much.  Especiall after that three-minute trailer which premiered over the weekend.

Anticipation is a killer, I tell you.  And so are spoilers.

Twentieth Century Fox has released the latest viral video to promote Ridley Scott's Prometheus.  This time, it's a faux advertisement for the "next generation David," the robot seen in the upcoming film - opening June 8th - who is played by Michael Fassbender.  

The promo comes courtesy of the Weyland Corporation, of course, the main focus of Fox's viral campaign for the film.  What can we glean from this video?  Michael Fassbender rules.  In all seriousness, this is some classy viral marketing.  Give the video a look inside.

The ship at the center of Ridley Scott's Prometheus is the focus of a nifty promo diagram Twentieth Century Fox has debuted at IGN.  

The image gives you a look at the design of the eponymous ship which carries stars Noomi Rapace, Michael Fassbender, Logan Marshall-Green, Charlize Theron and Idris Elba to their (final?) destination in the film.  It's pretty darn cool and, if I was still a kid, something I'd probably hang in my room...next to a blueprint of the Delorean from Back to the Future.

Recently, we introduced you to the Prometheus Facebook app which promised to reveal new images from the upcoming Ridley Scott sci-fi epic.  A bunch were revealed here on Shock at this spot.  This morning, we have two more to share.  One of which is apparently a "mural" that is discovered by the film's crew.  Another is of the eponymous ship.

Speculate away as to what the mural represents.  Me?  I'm done speculating.  I've seen enough from this film to get me excited and I'd rather not know much more, to be honest.

Total Film was privy to a Twentieth Century Fox Prometheus presentation in the UK where director Ridley Scott  and some of his cast popped in to show off 13 minutes of footage from the film.

The outlet detailed what they witnessed and you can read all about it after the jump.  Or not.  You may want to spare yourself any spoilers, considering the film doesn't open for another two months.

Is every image from Ridley Scott's Prometheus a piece of art?  Every pic we've seen - and there have been plenty of photos making their way into the world - captures our attention and makes us scrutinize every detail.  This morning, we're studying five new photos which come courtsey of this Facebook app - you'll also find an additional animated GIF and a pictogram at that spot.

It appears that location will be revealing more videos and pics in the weeks to come.

Twentieth Century Fox's international division has released a bevy of images from Ridley Scott's Prometheus.  Granted, some of these appeared in that new issue of Empire magazine which hits stands in the U.S. soon.  But they're not scans and there are a few new pics to behold.

The film doesn't open on June 8th, but the hype machine is well underway with promo materials now stating that Prometheus is from the director of Alien, something Fox avoided early in the ad campaign but is now embracing.

We told you earlier the latest issue of Empire magazine was going run a full spread on Prometheus, Ridley Scott's Alien prequel (yeah, we have no problem calling it that now).  Said spread has inevitably made its way online, boasting more photos from the film.  We have a few waiting for you after the jump.

One thing being called into question about Ridley Scott's Prometheus is the rating.  There were rumors long ago that the film would hit theaters with a PG-13.  Naturally, fans cringed.

In an interview with Empire recently, Scott said: "The question is, do you go for the PG-13, [which] financially makes quite a difference, or do you go for what it should be, which is R? Essentially, it's kinda R.  It's not just about the blood, it's about ideas that are very stressful. I'm not an idiot, but I'll do everything I can to get the most aggressive film I can."

UK movie mag, Empire, revealed the cover for its May issue.  Want to take a wild guess as to which film is in the spotlight?  Well, Prometheus is released the following month, so yes, Ridley Scott's highly-anticipated flick is the cover story.

You'll get a larger glimpse of the cover - which features a new shot of star Noomi Rapace - after the jump.  The May Empire is expected to hit stands overseas March 29th.  Look for it in the U.S. shortly thereafter.

Honestly, what more is there to say?  We've been dying for new footage and we've been getting the goods.  Directed Ridley Scott did fess up today to the fact that this is indeed a prequel to Alien in some respects, so with that out of the way...enjoy the new preview and meet our number one most anticipated movie of the year.

IMAX Corporation and Twentieth Century Fox today announced that Prometheus, director Ridley Scott’s return to the Alien universe, will be digitally re-mastered into the immersive IMAX 3D format and released in IMAX digital and film theatres domestically and in a select number of IMAX theatres internationally, starting June 8, 2012.

Sir Ridley directs and produces the film, which is written by Jon Spaihts and Damon Lindelof. Prometheus: An IMAX 3D Experience features a stellar international cast that includes Noomi Rapace, Michael Fassbender, Guy Pearce, Idris Elba, Logan Marshall-Green and Charlize Theron.

A brand new image from Ridley Scott's Prometheus surfaced today by way of some viral fun that was taking place at Weyland Industries.  Granted, it's an image we saw teased in the trailer released a bit ago, but it's still pretty stunning.

The highly-anticipated film hitting theaters on June 8th, Ridley Scott's Prometheus has just launched a viral promotion that features Guy Pearce as a man very familiar to fans of the Alien film series: Peter Weyland.

The latest image takes you back into that bizarre chamber we've seen in the Prometheus trailer and other pics - the set with the giant head and "urn"-looking shapes resting on the floor.  Go on, you want to see it, I know you do...

Oh, trailer mash-ups.  You know how I feel about them (especially if you follow our Twitter feed), and I can get occassionally grumpy about the subject, but some of you out there will likely groove to this.  One of the team members at Crave - our big papa site - recently created a trailer called Lion King Rises, which combined, you guessed it, The Lion King and The Dark Knight Rises.  

This time, they have dished out a combo of WALL-E and Prometheus entitled WALL-ETHEUS.  And yeah, it works...

After seeing the trailer for Prometheus, you have to wonder who will be the sole survivor - or at least one of the survivors - of the film.  And something, for me, keeps pointing to Charlize Theron.  My gut keeps telling me that, although I have no evidence.  Next to star Noomi Rapace, you see Theron's character hauling ass away from the space ship (seen in Alien) that's crashing at the end of the trailer.  Perhaps she survives the whole ordeal?

Okay, enough speculation...  Theron spoke with Total Film about her character, explaining her part in it all.

20th Century Fox is currently counting down the Thursday online launch of the trailer for Ridley Scott's Prometheus at iTunes Movie Trailers with daily teaser clips, but we've received word that you can actually see the trailer in theaters starting Tuesday night at 7 p.m. nationwide with David Fincher's The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo!

20th Century Fox has released a teaser for Ridley Scott's Prometheus.  It's not a trailer, mind you.  It's a teaser for the trailer which is going to be hitting the web in about three days.  Still, there are plenty of clips to behold and sound bites of Ridley Scott playing it up.  It's just enough to get you crazy excited and hitting the "pause" button to analyze every frame.  (Is it me or is someone's suit getting hit with "acid blood" at the end?)

There is a pretty stellar interview with Ridley Scott about Prometheus, his return to the science fiction genre and the creation of mankind over at Filmophilia.  

I've pulled some highlights from their discussion which include a definitive answer on whether or not H.R. Giger was involved in Prometheus and whether or not the "Alien" makes an appearance.  There are some juicy bits about the Space Jockey as well.

Right about now, all of the studios are rolling out previews for their big 2012 films.  Recently, we've seen the release of the Men in Black III teaser, a new Battleship trailer and poster and, if you venture out to see Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol, you can find The Dark Knight Rises prologue in theaters.
