Watch the First 3 Minutes of BBC's In the Flesh Here

Wednesday, June 05, 2013

In the Flesh is one of those BBC titles we've been covering since it debuted overseas, but our coverage has been renewed now that it made the leap across the pond and to BBC America.  Episode one premieres Thursday, June 6th at 10pm and we have the first three minutes to share with you after the jump.

Partially Deceased Syndrome sufferer Kieren Walker returns home to the cauldron of Roarton but doesn't receive a warm welcome. His parents, Steve and Sue, are undoubtedly pleased to see him, but his sister, Jem, isn't so ready to pick up where they left off when Kieren died back in 2009. Meanwhile, the zombie-hating Human Volunteer Force, led by the violent Bill Macy, is ready to take action against any PDS sufferer reintegrated on their patch.

BBC's In the Flesh is Coming to America

Tuesday, May 07, 2013

BBC AMERICA’s co-production, In The Flesh, tells a very human story…about the undead. The mini-series springs to life with the channel’s special broadcast event, premiering over three consecutive nights. Zombie teenager Kieren Walker isn’t comfortable in his ‘undead’ state. He didn’t want to come back - he wanted to be dead. After his suicide four years ago, his friends and family thought they’d never see him again. But then, shortly after his funeral, thousands rose from the dead. After months of re-habilitation and medication, the zombies, now known as PDS (Partially Deceased Syndrome) sufferers, are gradually being returned to their homes. When Kieran returns, he is forced to confront his family, the community that rejected him and the haunting flashbacks of what he did in his untreated state. BBC AMERICA’s special three-night premiere event of In The Flesh begins Thursday, June 6, 10:00pm ET/PT.

Teaser Trailer for the BBC Zombie Series In the Flesh

Monday, February 25, 2013

When the UK's Being Human comes to an end, it appears BBC Three is going to fill the horror void with a new zombie series called In the Flesh.  The tale is set in the wake of a zombie apocalypse (naturally) and will be seen through the eyes of one of the undead.

According to its creator, Dominic Mitchell:  "I want it to be for a really wide audience and to talk about real issues, real family issues, real domestic issues, and we play with the zombie methodology. We do have a few scenes of real great zombie genre stuff, but then you have a scene where it’s really domestic and they’re sitting around the table just trying to be a family again, and that’s what I really wanted it to do. So, your Grandma can watch it, hopefully, and really enjoy it, and it can speak to her as well as speak to the teenage zombie horror fan."

Check out the trailer inside and learn more via the interviews at the BBC.
