Set in a dystopic present where vigilant gargoyles and ferocious demons rage in a battle for ultimate power, Victor Frankenstein's creation Adam (Aaron Eckhart) finds himself caught in the middle as both sides race to discover the secret to his immortality.
Lionsgate announced this evening that I, Frankenstein is now scheduled to open in theaters on January 24, 2014.
This is the third release date for the potential franchise starter. The film was supposed to bow this past February but was shifted to September 2013.
The reason for this shift is to allow adequate time for a 3D conversion, says a press release. Another reason could be because Lionsgate found success found a modicum of success releasing a horror film in January of this year with Texas Chainsaw 3D and they don't have anything to fill that slot in 2014.
Lionsgate has pushed back the release of Stuart Beattie's I, Frankenstein by seven months. It will now see release on September 13, 2013 rather than February 22, 2013.

As shooting continues in Australia on I, Frankenstein, more images are sneaking out from the set. Just the other day, we brought you a first look at star Aaron Eckhart as Adam, Frankenstein's monster. Now, a new pic has surfaced and video footage from the set of the production hit the web this morning.

The film now in production in Victoria, Australia, the very first photo from the set of Stuart Beattie's I, Frankenstein is now online, courtesy of photographer Pablo Hassan, who captured Aaron Eckhart in full makeup as the creature, Adam.
Also starring Socratis Otto, Yvonne Strahovski and Miranda Otto, the film tells the modern-day tale of Dr. Frankenstein's creature, who nearly centuries after his "birth", has found himself in a gothic city, caught up in a war between two immortal clans.

I, Frankenstein - one of the many Frankenstein-themed films rolling out over the next few years - is crewing up and getting ready to shoot in Australia under the direction of Stuart Beattie.
Aaron Eckhart, Bill Nighy and Socratis Otto are set to star in the film opening February 22, 2013 and, today, word has trickled in regarding who will be responsible for creating the Frankenstein monster and sundry creatures featured in the story.
