Horns

A burning building, people attacking one another and Daniel Radcliffe with horns.  That's what you get in an Entertainment Tonight Canada video package which takes its viewers on the set of Horns, the latest film from Alexandre Aja (High Tension, The Hills Have Eyes).

The film is based on the novel by Joe Hill and stars Radcliffe, Max Minghella, Juno Temple and Joe Anderson.  In the interview with ET Radcliffe reveals the special powers he carries in the film, so if you've never read the novel, you're entering into spoiler territory.

The novel upon which the film is based is a love story driven by horror and vengeance that revolves around a 26-year-old man who wakes up one morning from a blackout hangover and finds horns sprouting out of his head.  As the horns grow bigger by the day, the reason why seems to lie in the unsolved murder of his girlfriend. 

In spite of my own personal casting wish to see Aaron Paul play Ig Perrish in the screen adaptation of Joe Hill's Horns, I think Daniel Radcliffe is a fine choice for the film.  The actor is the center of the first official photo from the flick which is now in production with Alex Aja (The Hills Have Eyes) directing.  You can find the entire pic inside.

The Dark Knight Rises star Juno Temple is set to join Daniel Radcliffe in the upcoming supernatural thriller Horns.

Based on the novel by Joe Hill, the film will be directed by Alexandre Aja (The Hills Have Eyes, Piranha 3D). Joe Anderson (The Crazies) and Kelli Garner (Lars and the Real Girl) are said to be in talks to appear as well, as is Max Minghella (as reported earlier this week).

There's been a bit of reshuffling on the casting front for Horns, the adaptation of Joe Hill's novel.  Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter, The Woman in Black) will now star in the film, says Variety.  Shia LeBeouf was originally slated to topline.

Radcliffe is playing Ig Perrish, who awakens one day to find a pair of horns have sprouted from his head. Those around him who see the horns are compelled to tell him pretty much all the nasty things that are rolling around in their brain. Ig's powers don't stop there. 

An adaptation I never thought would fly - regardless if Shia LaBeouf was attached - is moving forward with a director on board.  He's brought you High Tension, The Hills Have Eyes and Piranha 3D.  Now, with Joe Hill's Horns, Alexandre Aja is about to try something a little bit different.
