Paul Soter (Broken Lizard) slipped into the director's chair for Dark Circles, a supernatural thriller that's part of the After Dark Originals line-up and hitting DVD this week.

When new parents Alex and Penny retreat from the city and move into a place outside town, the stress and massive sleep-deprivation caused by their infant has both of them seeing things in the house that may or may not exist.  Persistent sightings of a strange woman has each of them wondering if they are suffering from hallucinations, or if their new home holds a dark, supernatural presence.  As their fragile grasp on reality spirals into delirium, Alex and Penny find themselves nearly helpless to deal with the horrific truth of what is really going in this house.

Two years after it was presented before a Comic-Con crowd, Francis Ford Coppola's latest film, Twixt, is finally coming home.  

At the time of its creation, Coppola spoke of making Twixt an experimental film intended to be viewed as a "live experience" that would evolve to match the crowd's demands.  Yeah, well, that never really panned out.

The film, according to Blu-ray.com, is hitting DVD and Blu-ray from Fox Home Entertainment on July 30th.  Special features have yet to be announced.

On July 30th, Anchor Bay Films unleashes the biological warfare thriller The Demented on Blu-ray/DVD combo pack and DVD.  

From the creative minds behind I Spit On Your Grave and A Nightmare on Elm Street, The Demented stars Sarah Butler, Brittney Alger, Kayla Ewell, Richard Kohnke and Michael Welch, The Demented will have you on the edge of your seat until the very last frame.

The Demented follows six college friends as they meet up for a carefree weekend in a beautiful rural home. A terrorist missile attack in a nearby town infects much of the townspeople with a deadly virus that induces rabies-like symptoms...with devastating consequences. 

Alex Chandon's UK horror offering Inbred is making its way to the U.S. via XLrator and, today, the company announced it's giving this title a VOD bow on August 22nd following by a DVD release September 24th. 

When four troubled teens and their social workers take a community service trip to a remote Yorkshire village, a minor incident with some local inbred youths rapidly escalates into a violent, deliriously warped nightmare.

In case you had any doubt in your mind whether or not Gallowwalkers would be a DVD release, Lionsgate Home Entertainment is here to confirm that it has picked up the title (which has been on the shelf a bit).

Gallowwalkers arrives on DVD (plus Digital UltraViolet), Digital Download and Video on Demand August 6th.

Picked as an official selection at Film4 Fright Fest, Gallowwalkers stars Wesley Snipes and Kevin Howarth.

The disc will include a "making of" featurette.

Gilbert Chan's 23:59 was picked up by Magnet Releasing and the company is bringing it to DVD and Blu-ray on June 4th.

During a routine road march at an island military training camp, an army recruit is found dead at exactly 23:59. This mysterious and gruesome incident unearths a terrifying dark secret of the haunted island, forcing the recruits to confront their deepest fears in order to find the truth about their friend’s death.

Image Entertainment has acquired The Last Will and Testament of Rosalind Leigh, the feature debut of Rue Morgue's Rodrigo Gudino.

The film will be available on DVD and digital download July 30th.

After the mysterious death of the reclusive Rosalind Leigh (Vanessa Redgrave), her estranged son, Leon (Aaron Poole), arrives at her house to take stock of his inheritance.  But there’s more to this house than dark corners and dusty antiques. Rosalind has left something behind…and it has been waiting for Leon.  Now a force from beyond the grave will pursue him through a night of lurking terror and a desperate struggle to survive.

On June 18th, Anchor Bay Entertainment releases The Amazing Adventures of the Living Corpse on Blu-ray and DVD.

An instant fan favorite when it premiered at last year’s Comic-Con in San Diego, The Amazing Adventures of the Living Corpse is described as "a hip horror fantasy done in CG animation and brings new life to the zombie genre."

Unlike any living dead story before, this wildly entertaining film is based on the cult underground Dynamite comic series, “The Living Corpse Exhumed” by Ken Haeser and Buz Hasson. The DVD features a DVD-ROM of “The Living Corpse: Haunted” comic.

This summer, Scream Factory presents The Fog Collector’s Edition Blu-ray and DVD on July 30, 2013.

Directed by legendary filmmaker John Carpenter (Halloween, The Thing), this spooky and atmospheric tale of a Northern California coastal town under siege by dead souls back for revenge is highly regarded by both fans and critics as one of the true classics of the horror genre.

For the first time on Blu-ray, this definitive collector’s edition home entertainment release of The Fog features a new transfer of the film supervised by Oscar-nominated cinematographer Dean Cundey. Two years back saw the release of my Scream trilogy documentary, Still Screaming.  Miramax picked it up, bumped it over to Lionsgate Home Entertainment who, in turn, packaged the documentary in the 5-disc Scream Blu-ray collection.  What no one knows is that the doc's producer, Anthony Masi, and myself had four hours of bonus content that we wanted to share with the world that was never released with that collection.

So, we packaged it ourselves and are now making it available.  Beginning this weekend, pre-orders have begun on the independently-released Still Screaming bonus features: A two-disc collection containing that promised four hours of content.

Alyce Kills has been chosen as the next title to come out of the Bloody-Disgusting Selects series and you can expect to see this one hit VOD May 21st and select theaters May 24th.

Steven Kostanski's low - LOW - budget '80s throwback Manborg is set to make its DVD debut from MPI/Dark Sky on April 30th and, this morning, we have the trailer debut.  

Kostanski is a part of Astron-6, the filmmaking group behind such efforts as Father's Day.

In Manborg, the armies of hell have taken over the Earth, and all that stands in the way of the villainous Count Draculon and humanity's total extinction is a motley crew of misfits led by the mighty Manborg: a warrior who's half-man, half-machine, but all hero.

If you haven't seen John Dies at the End...  Well, what's wrong with you?  The latest film from Don Coscarelli (Bubba Ho-Tep, Phantasm) is now available on DVD and Blu-ray and we've got a sneak peek at some of the bonus content featured on the disc.

Scream! Factory just unveiled its artwork for the upcoming DVD/Blu-ray collector's edition of The Fog.  Like previous Scream! titles, this one features custom art, but you'll have the option to reverse it if you prefer the original one-sheet.  Check out a larger version inside.  Here's the notice from the Scream! reps:

Based on true events, a Vegas-style birthday bash goes terribly wrong in the horrifying thriller Stripped, coming to DVD May 14th from Inception Media Group. 

To celebrate a 21st birthday, four friends embark on a road trip to Vegas – anticipating debauchery and memories that will last a lifetime – with Cameron recording the entire raucous excursion.

Once on the fabled strip, the guys waste no time getting the revelry started, arranging to meet strippers and undaunted by the girls’ request to hook up in a remote location.

The most iconic figure in Asian horror returns for the latest installment in the frightening Ringu franchise with Sadako 3D, debuting on Blu-ray, DVD and Digital June 4th from Well Go USA Entertainment.  The film debuted last year overseas.

Director Tsutomu Hanabusa (High School Review) brings back the long-haired girl in the white nightgown and her reign of terror has extended from television screens to all forms of technology: PC screens, mobile phones, jumbotrons and more.  

The cast includes Satomi Ishihara (Moonlight Mask), Kôji Seto (Runway Beat), Tsutomu Takahashi (Aragure) and Shôta Sometani (The Intermission).  Akane Aikawa (Ishihara) works as a teacher in a high school where students are mysteriously committing suicide after viewing a video hosted on the internet. She discovers that a deranged artist is trying to bring Sadako back to life.

Severin Films have announced the long-awaited June 11th Blu-ray/DVD combo US debut release of the controversial shocker House on Straw Hill and House of Seven Corpses.  Some details on both titles below!

HOUSE ON STRAW HILL: Banned in Britain as a Video Nasty for thirty years! A shockingly violent and erotic tale of seduction, brutality and revenge. Cult movie icon Udo Kier (MARK OF THE DEVIL, FLESH FOR FRANKENSTEIN) stars as a successful novelist suffering from writer’s block, who rents a country cottage with his wife (British 70s sex sensation Fiona Richmond) in the hope of finding inspiration. We got to see the Coyote Tango poster yesterday and today comes a new Pacific Rim poster featuring Cherno Alpha, described as the "Stoic Russian Warrior."

Opening in 3D, 2D and IMAX theaters on July 12, the Guillermo del Toro-directed film stars Charlie Hunnam, Idris Elba, Rinko Kikuchi, Charlie Day, Ron Perlman, Robert Kazinsky, Max Martini, Clifton Collins, Jr., Burn Gorman, Larry Joe Campbell, Brad William Henke and Diego Klattenhoff.

The documentary Slice and Dice: The Slasher Film Forever - a look at horror's slasher film boom - is hitting UK DVD May 13th.  While we don't have any word on a U.S. release, we do have a trailer to share with you.

Filleting-up numerous facts, which will appeal to both the seasoned follower of shock-cinema, and the more passive fan of fear-films, and featuring interviews with Corey Feldman (Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter), Tobe Hooper (The Texas Chain Saw Massacre), Mick Garris (Masters of Horror), Tom Holland (Child's Play), Jeffrey Reddick (creator: Final Destination), Adam Green (Hatchet) and Scott Spiegel (producer: Hostel series) to name but a few, this is a documentary which aptly investigates the appeal of the ever-endurable stalk and slash trend. Slice and Dice: The Slasher Film Forever explores all of the genre's most famous features - including Psycho, The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, Halloween and Friday the 13th - as well as various cult obscurities and long forgotten flops!

Millennium Entertainment is bringing the teen thriller Crush to DVD and Blu-ray on April 9th.

The film stars Lucas Till, Crystal Reed, Sarah Bolger, Reid Ewing, Leigh Whannell and Caitriona Balfe.

Origin Releasing has acquired Cowboys vs. Vampires, written and directed by Douglas Meyers and starring Jasen Wade (Amber Alert), Angelica Celaya (Perro Amor) and Shannon Whirry (Me Myself and Irene).

The story of a western movie actor (Johnny Dust) still trying to make it big in a western film studio and theme park, when a 'new management team' takes over the park and turns the film studio into a fright-fest for the month of Halloween. Haunted by the image of his dead western movie hero, who appears to him on the little screen, Johnny unravels the real intent of management and its opening night 'spectacular', which takes place in the depths of the park's cave.

The film will have a presence at  LONE STAR COMIC CON in San Antonio next week in addition to making a short festival and convention run in preparation for the release to top outlets such as Walmart, Target, Redbox and more. The official street date will be announced next month along a full list of outlets

The Collective and Bloody-Disgusting.com will release the cabin in the woods slasher flick Blood Runs Cold as part of their Bloody Disgusting Selects film series.

Blood Runs Cold will be released in select theaters on March 22nd.  It will be available on Cable VOD in partnership with Tribeca Films and for digital download on March 26th.

In the dead of winter, Winona, a successful musician looking to relax and find creative inspiration, returns to her hometown to stay in a cabin rented by her manager. When she arrives, she coincidentally runs into her old boyfriend and some friends. Continuing their reunion at the cabin, the houseguests quickly discover that they are not alone; something horrific lurks underneath the floorboards.

Dallas Roberts is a cool cat.  ShockTillYouDrop.com first encountered the easy-going, amiable actor on the red carpet for The Grey and that was when we had initially talked about Shadow People, a film he had starred in that was awaiting distribution at the time.  He was hopeful it would find a release and, ultimately, it did.  Shadow People hits DVD this week from Anchor Bay.

He plays Charlie Crowe, a radio DJ who unravels a conspiracy about encounters with the eponymous, mysterious beings.  These “Shadow People” were the cause of hundreds of unexplained deaths.  He encounters CDC Epidemic Intelligence Agent Sophie Lancombe (Allison Eastwood), whose investigations entwine her with Charlie’s own discoveries leading them both into a dark world and a decades old cover-up.

Inside, Roberts talks briefly about the film.  Naturally, we couldn't help but inquire about his involvement in The Walking Dead and the forthcoming season three finale.  His answer is pretty great.

This fall will see the North American DVD release of Sinister Visions, the latest horror anthology to hit the market.  While we don't have an exact debut date, we do have cover art and details for you below!

13 Eerie - a film we've sporadically updating you on over the last year or so - is coming to DVD April 2nd from Entertainment One.  That's their atrocious art to the left.

Directed by Lowell Dean, the film stars Brendan Fehr, Katharine Isabelle, Brendan Fletcher and Nick Moran.

Six ambitious forensic undergrads are pitted against one another on a scientific expedition to a remote island, vying to win an esteemed trainee position with the FBI. Unbeknownst to them, the site was formerly used as an illegal biological testing ground for life-term criminals who were then left for dead. The arrival of the students disturbs the resting place, unleashing a pack of zombie criminal convicts who systematically hunt them down, one by one.

Image Entertainment announces Last Kind Words, a horror film about a young teen who moves to a secluded rural farm and learns that the surrounding woods have flesh-crawling stories to tell.

Directed by Kevin Barker (Five Fingers) and featuring a cast including Brad Dourif (Halloween, II), Spencer Daniels (Star Trek), Alexia Fast (Jack Reacher) and Marianne Hagan (Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers), Last Kind Words arrives on DVD and Digital Download May 21st.

Synopsis...  17-year-old Eli has just moved with his family deep into the backwoods of Kentucky to work on the isolated farm of a local recluse.

There are two horror films about to hit horror fans carrying the moniker Home Sweet Home.  The first is a French production directed by David Morley (learn more about that here).  The other is an indie film by directed John K.D. Graham starring Alexandra Boylan, Christopher Dempsey, Raquel Cantu and Lorena Segura York.

It appears Image Entertainment has acquired the rights to the latter and will release the film domestically on DVD June 4th.

The story goes like this: Gwen Stevens (Boylan) is at a crossroads in her life and needs a safe, quiet place to get her head together. 

Ray Winstone and his daughter Jaime Winstone (Donkey Punch) collaborated on a horror film together called Elfie Hopkins: Cannibal Hunter (well, that's the U.S. title, it was called Elfie Hopkins overseas) and it appears the film was unceremoniously dumped to domestic DVD and VOD this week.

We were on the set of this one back in 2011, so I just wanted to call attention to the fact that it did get a release here in the U.S from Screen Media, however, no one seems to be aware of that.

The tale unfolds around Elfie Hopkins, a quirky wannabe detective whose appetite for a real-life case is matched by the appetites of a new family (The Gammons) who move into the village.

We've known that the Norwegian creature feature, Thale (review), was hitting VOD March 21st (with an April 5th limited theatrical run to follow) now, this morning, we have the official U.S. release trailer to share with you.  You can find it after the jump.

Directed by Aleksander Nordaas, the film concerns two crime-scene cleaners who discover a mythical, tailed female creature in a concealed cellar. She never utters a word, unable to tell her story, but the pieces of the puzzle soon come together: she's been held captive for decades for reasons soon to surface.

Look for Thale to hit DVD April 23rd.

Takashi Shimizu takes an unflinching look into childhood fears, the ties that hold a family together, and bloody secrets that won't stay dead when Tormented debuts on Blu-ray, DVD and Digital April 2nd from Well Go USA Entertainment.

The film stars Hikari Mitsushima, Takeru Shibuya, Tamaki Ogawa, Nao Omori, Teruyuki Kagawa and Momoko Tanabe.

Takashi Shimizu took home the Silver Raven for the film’s originality and unique view of childhood through a child’s eyes at the 2012 Brussels International Festival of Fantasy Film.

Some time ago, we presented an early preview for Dark Feed.  With this title's March 19th DVD release on the way, we now have the official trailer to share and you can find it after the jump.

In the film, a group of young professionals are terrorized while working in an abandoned psychiatric hospital when it appears that insanity is spreading among them like a virus. Michael and Shawn Rasmussen directed from a script they penned.  

They also wrote the screenplay to the 2010 asylum thriller John Carpenter’s The Ward.  Lionsgate Home Entertainment is handling the distribution of their latest endeavor.

MPI/Dark Sky Films is bringing the UK offering Stitches to the big screen on April 1st.  Yes, April Fool's Day.  The theatrical run is only happening in select cities.  You'll be able to check out the film April 2nd on VOD, DVD and Blu-ray.

In the film, a group of horror fans find themselves unwilling participants in a living nightmare that pays homage to a classic horror film. Seven complete strangers whose only common link is a love for classic era horror films are invited to attend an exclusive “horror fan” party at a remote farm.

Shock spoke to Schulze about the film and the future of his proposed "Mimesis" trilogy.

On April 23rd, Shout! Factory will unleash Norwegian blockbuster thriller hit Cold Prey II DVD on home entertainment shelves everywhere.

Starring popular international actress Ingrid Bolsø Berdal (Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters) and directed by Mats Stenberg, the sequel continues the tension from the original smash hit Cold Prey.

This is the first time this title is being made available in the U.S.

On April 16th, Image Entertainment challenges you to escape zombie-ridden Montgomery County with the release of State of Emergency. This tale of survival amongst the undead is directed by Turner Clay (Interception) and stars Jay Hayden (A Warrior’s Heart), Tori White (Silent Night) and Andy Stahl (The Blind Side).

After an explosion unleashes the contents of a military bio-weapons plant, the unsuspecting populace is transformed into a roaming army of flesh-eating zombies. Trapped in the quarantine zone, Jim finds himself cut off, confused and fighting for his own survival. Contacted by a small band of others unaffected by the toxins, Jim sets out to reach their besieged warehouse. Becoming the survival group's de-facto leader, he struggles to keep order as they hunker down, fortify their stronghold and arm themselves against the attacking mutants. Fragmentary radio reports from outside hint at a last-ditch government rescue plan.

Image Entertainment has set an April 30th DVD release date for The Wicked.

A group of curious teenagers decide to seek out their town’s local legend and go on the hunt for a child-eating witch, not realizing they could be her next meal.

Directed by Peter Winther, the film stars Devon Werkheiser (Beneath the Darkness), Justin Deeley (90210), Nicole Forester (The Double), and Cassie Keller (A Very Harold and Kumar 3D Christmas).

Look at that, Curandero is finally making its way to the U.S.

Robert Rodriguez penned and co-produced the film which was directed by Eduardo Rodriguez back in 2005, the film is hitting DVD from Lionsgate Home Entertainment on March 12th.

Starring longtime Rodriguez collaborator Carlos Gallardo (El Mariachi, Grindhouse, Desperado), Curandero: Dawn of the Demon takes a couple on a horrifying journey through the deepest bowels of the Mexican underworld. When beautiful federal agent Magdalena calls upon the local curandero (Gallardo) for his services to purify a police station, the two of suddenly find themselves immersed in a satanic cult's blood-thirsty battleground.

When season two of The Walking Dead arrived, McFarlane Toys and Anchor Bay released a cool collectible package featuring a zombie head with a screwdriver embedded in the corpse's eye socket.  

For season three, they're planning something "interactive."  Well, kind of.  

The pics you'll find inside feature the season three limited edition package which takes the form of The Governor's "zombie head" trophy case complete with floating heads...and you provide the water.  No date has been set for the season's DVD/Blu-ray release.  Hell, season three resumes this Sunday, but expect to see the package arrive sometime next summer, I presume.

Night of the Living Dead: Resurrection arrives on DVD, Digital Download and Video on Demand April 30th from Lionsgate Home Entertainment.

Directed by James Plumb (Silent Night, Bloody Night: The Homecoming), this post-apocalyptic, sci-fi, horror film is a whole new take on the original classic, Night of the Living Dead.

Based on the classic original film, Night of the Living Dead: Resurrection is set in 2012, where the deceased have risen from their graves once again with the instinct to feed on the living.  As academics speculate on the scientific cause of this phenomenon, theologians point to the Armageddon foretold in the Book of Revelation. As the cities are taken over and civilization crumbles, a family takes refuge from the undead army in an isolated farmhouse in West Wales.  But the greatest threat is already among them as they fight to stay alive.

Crawl, a new Australian suspense thriller, is headed to DVD and Digital Download on February 26. You can check out the trailer for the suspense thriller after the break.

Written and directed by Paul China, and produced by brother Ben China, Crawl brings together a cast spearheaded by rising-star Georgina Haig ("Fringe"), George Shevtsov (Love Serenade, Dead Calm), Catherine Miller ("Terra Nova") and Lynda Stoner ("Prisoner"). Other notable crewmembers include cinematographer Brian Breheny (The Adventures of Priscilla: Queen of the Desert, The Hard Word) who not only shot the picture, but also produced and John Scott, the acclaimed editor of Little Fish, Sexy Beast and The Quiet American.
