Dark Circles

Paul Soter (Broken Lizard) slipped into the director's chair for Dark Circles, a supernatural thriller that's part of the After Dark Originals line-up and hitting DVD this week.

When new parents Alex and Penny retreat from the city and move into a place outside town, the stress and massive sleep-deprivation caused by their infant has both of them seeing things in the house that may or may not exist.  Persistent sightings of a strange woman has each of them wondering if they are suffering from hallucinations, or if their new home holds a dark, supernatural presence.  As their fragile grasp on reality spirals into delirium, Alex and Penny find themselves nearly helpless to deal with the horrific truth of what is really going in this house.

Paul Soter's Dark Circles is making its debut this year.  As part of the After Dark Originals line-up, we were curious to know its fate.  Today, however, Lionsgate Home Entertainment revealed the film will hit DVD and VOD on May 21st.

The thriller stars Pell James and Johnathan Schaech playing new parents Penny and Alex who retreat from the city and move into a place outside town.

After Dark Films returns to the screen sometime in 2013 with an all-new slate of After Dark Originals.  One film that is completed is Dark Circles and a trailer made its debut today.

Yesterday, After Dark Films officially announced the launch of After Dark Originals 2 and the first title to fall under that banner, Dark Circles.

After Dark Films has officially announced the production start of Dark Circles.  The company is kicking off "After Dark Originals 2" with the film.  As in the past, eight pictures will fall under this horror banner for release sometime this year.

Paul Soter (of Broken Lizard) penned and will direct Dark Circles; Pell James and Jonathon Schaech are attached to star.  “Hopefully this will serve as some kind of cinematic equivalent of birth control," Soter said in a press release.
