Guillermo del Toro is bringing quite a cast to Crimson Peak, his haunted house/ghost story. Yesterday saw Benedict Cumberbatch joining the project. Today, Variety reports that Jessica Chastain is in final negotations to star as well. This will be Chastain's second collaboration with Del Toro after Mama, which Del Toro produced.

On the heels of news earlier this week that Emma Stone is eyeing a leading role in Guillermo del Toro's ghost story Crimson Peak comes word, via Variety, that Charlie Hunnam is up for a major part as well.

Okay, that headline sounds wrong. But everything about this project is so right.
Variety reports Emma Stone (Gangster Squad, Zombieland) is currently in talks to star in Guillermo del Toro's next horror film Crimson Peak. Shooting won't begin, however, until February 2014 since Del Toro is still finishing Pacific Rim.
But hey, at least this casting news demonstrates Del Toro is serious about making the film happen.

This week, two significant things have happened in the world of Guillermo del Toro. First, news broke that Del Toro would return to the realm of horror and direct Crimson Peak. That was followed with the buzz he would supervise the writing of Pacific Rim 2, a sequel to his summer 2013 offering Pacific Rim.
Both Crimson Peak and all things Pacific Rim reside at Legendary and I have to wonder if the sequel will take priority over Peak. When ShockTillYouDrop.com ran into Guillermo del Toro at last week's Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony for Rick Baker, the director was enthusiastic about the time he was having making Pacific Rim for Warner Bros. and Legendary. His happiness was palpable and it was clear his relationship with Legendary would continue on.
Now comes word that he'll be returning to the director's chair for Legendary with Crimson Peak, a project that has been bandied about in discussions with Del Toro. The film will see him returning to the horror genre as this is a haunted house film!
