Cabin Fever Patient Zero

In late 2011, Indomina Releasing announced plans to deliver two more Cabin Fever sequels - the first being Cabin Fever: Patient Zero which would be followed with Cabin Fever: Outbreak.

The former is in the can and will be presented to audiences at the Cannes film market this month.  Kaare Andrews of Altitude and The ABCs of Death directed; Lydia Hearst, Sean Astin, Brano Eaton, Ryan Donowho and Mitch Ryan star.

With one new installment complete, it appears plans for the series' future are growing.

So, yes, a third chapter in the Cabin Fever series - Cabin Fever: Patient Zero - is now in the works at Indomina Releasing and with the American Film Market rapidly approaching (that's the event here in Los Angeles where film buyers and sellers convene to show off their goods), a teaser trailer has been created to generate some awareness.

The teaser you'll find within is just that: A teaser.  There are no big reveals, but it gives you an idea as to where things are going.  You'll recognize shots from the original Cabin Fever because this is merely a sales reel - something created by the company to attract buyers when footage from the film is not yet available.

Kaare Andrews of Altitude and The ABCs of Death is directing; Lydia Hearst, Sean Astin, Brano Eaton, Ryan Donowho and Mitch Ryan star.  When friends start to show symptoms of a mysterious flesh eating disease in the Caribbean, the countdown is on to solve the mystery and find help. A mysterious and surprisingly unaffected stranger may hold the clue to escape... or may be the cause of their ultimate demise.

Lydia Hearst will join Sean Astin, Brano Eaton, Ryan Donowho and Mitch Ryan for Cabin Fever: Patient Zero, says THR.

Hearst, a former model, is daughter of Patty Hearst.  Kaare Andrews is directing the third chapter in the series which kicked off with Eli Roth's Cabin Fever and was followed by Ti West's Cabin Fever 2.  Andrews made his feature debut with Altitude.  

He begins shooting Patient Zero next month.

Last fall, Indomina Group revealed plans to continue the Cabin Fever franchise, which began with Eli Roth's 2003 film and continued with Cabin Fever 2: Spring Fever.

Two sequels are in the works - Cabin Fever: Patient Zero and Cabin Fever: Outbreak.  Shock Till You Drop has discovered promotional art for the former which is being used at the European Film Market in Berlin.  After the jump, you can find a larger version of what you see on the right.

Written by Jake Wade Wall, Patient Zero is set a cruise ship in the Caribbean that collides with an abandoned research vesse.  A deadly virus is unleashed and the passengers must find a way to survive before the flesh eating disease consumes them all.
