Travis Tope has been cast in the forthcoming remake of The Town That Dreaded Sundown, says The Hollywood Reporter. The newcomer will play opposite Addison Timlin.
In this redo, Timlin plays a young girl who survives a copycat massacre at the film’s annual tribute screening and sets out to solve the mystery of who’s recreating the unsolved Sackhead murders, using clues from her own past.
The original film took its inspiration from the 1940s Texarkana murders in which a "Phantom Killer" stalked the town.

Universal has revealed the poster and trailer for The Purge, the latest film from Blumhouse Productions. There's good buzz surrounding this one which stars Ethan Hawke and Lena Headey. You can check out the trailer inside!
In an America wracked by crime, the government has sanctioned an annual 12-hour period in which any and all criminal activity - including murder - is legal. The police can’t be called. Hospitals suspend help. It is one night when the citizenry regulates itself without thought of punishment. On this night plagued by violence and an epidemic of crime, one family wrestles with the decision of who they will become when a stranger comes knocking.
James DeMonaco (writer of Assault on Precinct 13 and The Negotiator) directs. Universal's feelin' confident so it's dropping the film into the summer movie season. Look for it May 31st! (For our photo gallery, click here.)
