In the forthcoming American Horror Story: Asylum, there's a new character showrunner Ryan Murphy has dubbed the second season's "Rubber Man" who is going by the name "Bloody Face."
We were first introduced - in a way - to the character when Murphy posted a pic of Asylum's Adam Levine standing before some Bloody Face graphitti.
Now we actually have a look at this ghastly ghoul himself (or herself, we can't make out this thing is male or female). The pic you'll find inside comes courtesy of the latest issue of Entertainment Weekly which has done a cover story on American Horror Story's return to the small screen October 17th.

American Horror Story co-creator Ryan Murphy spoke to TV Line and touched on the subject of the returning actors, specifically, what roles certain season one actors might be playing in season two.
Jessica Lange is back, taking on the role as the head of a mental institution for the criminally insane. As for the other actors, Murphy told the site: “I don’t want to say what Zach [Quinto] and Lily [Rabe] are doing, or what anybody else is doing, until we get closer to [fall]. But I’ll continue to say that everybody is playing the opposite of what they played last year, which I think is why they’re all so into it. Like, I have talked to Zach and Jessica and they were very excited…and that’s a rare thing." He drops a few more hints here.

Until now, Ryan Murphy has teased that the second season of American Horror Story (perhaps one of my most anticipated "television returns" of this year) was going to be set in another time and place.
Slowly, over the last few months, it was revealed the show was going to be set against the backdrop of a mental instituion housing the criminally insane - run by Jessica Lange (a departure from her turn as Constance in season one).
In an interview with Vulture, Murphy - who is a showrunner on AHS - revealed the upcoming story arc will be set in the '60s and dished a bit more dirt on what is to come.

American Horror Story co-creator Ryan Murphy has confirmed what, I think, many of us were speculating in regards to the backdrop for the series' second season.
Months ago, Murphy said season 2 would take place on the East Coast and in a classic horror institutation. Murphy revealed during a television panel discussion yesterday, "[Season 2] is set on the East Coast at an institution for the criminally insane that is run by Jessica [Lange]."
Ah, but there's more. There is now the question of what time period season 2 is set...

French actress Lizzie Brochere is being added to the cast of American Horror Story season 2, says TV Line.
She'll be playing a character named Gia. If you recall, this character was brought up in an earlier news item. The upcoming recurring character was "described as a fierce, ferocious, extremely sexual and dangerous wild-child sexpot who harbors a secret." Angelina Jolie's role in Girl, Interrupted served as the inspiration for the role.
TV Line says the character has been revamped a bit, but did not have any more information than that. As the site is quick to point out, Brochere has a reputation for doing a lot of NC-17 rating films in her home country.

As American Horror Story season 2 casts up, some characters details are slowly beginning to spill out. TV Line got the scoop on a new role that is taking its cue from one of Angelina Jolie's past characters.
The site reports:
"The series regular character, Gia, is described as a fierce, ferocious, extremely sexual and dangerous wild-child sexpot who harbors a secret — “think Angelina Jolie in Girl, Interrupted,” reads the casting notice. As such, interested actresses should be in their mid-20s and Caucasian."

Zachary Quinto is back for American Horror Story season 2, says Deadline.
This confirmation comes on the heels of yesterday's news that Jessica Lange will return, however, as another character. Like Lange, Quinto will be slipping into a new role.
He'll be one of the show's male leads next season, furthermore, a nemesis to Lange's character.
Excellent to hear. Quinto and Lange both chewed the scenery in equal measures in American Horror Story's first season. I can't wait to see what Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk do this time.
