Following various teases this week, the first promo for Insidious Chapter 3 has landed via Facebook. You can watch it below or follow this link (as Facebook’s embed system can get a bit wonky).
Insidious Chapter 3 stars Dermot Mulroney and Stefanie Scott alongside Lin Shaye, Angus Sampson, and Leigh Whannell, with the latter trio reprising their roles from the first two movies in the franchise.
Following a report that we’ll be seeing the teaser trailer for Insidious Chapter 3 sometime this week, Focus Features have debuted a number of new behind-the-scenes photos from the upcoming film which you can check out in the gallery viewer below! A Shock reader who works for a movie theater informed us today that they’ve received the teaser trailer for Insidious Chapter 3 and it’s apparently going to run before Ouija when the film opens this Friday, October 24th.
This makes sense because the latter is a Blumhouse Production (well, a joint production with Platinum Dunes that’s getting released through Universal).
A teaser poster for writer/director Leigh Whannell’s Insidious Chapter 3 has arrived online today and, as you can see in the gallery viewer below, it offers some creepy verse tied to the May 29, 2015 release. The official Facebook page for the Insidious series has posted another photo from the Insidious Chapter 3 set. It’s a look at Lin Shaye and Dermot Mulroney, both looking fairly alarmed…or scared.
Filming wrapped on the third film in Los Angeles recently. Yep, they’re already done and on track for a May 29, 2015 release through Focus Features. Shock was on set, so expect a report in the near future.
Focus Features, Entertainment One, Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions and Blumhouse Productions announced today that Insidious: Chapter 3 has begun production in Los Angeles – and with this announcement comes the first image.
Leigh Whannell, co-creator of the terrifying horror franchise, is writing and directing the new movie. To commemorate the start of production of the series’ newest chapter, Focus is launching a sweepstakes on the official Insidious Facebook and Twitter pages.
Insidious buffs and fans will have the chance to win a trip for two to Los Angeles to visit the set of Insidious: Chapter 3. The contest begins on Tuesday, July 22nd, and ends on Friday, July 25th.
Deliver Us from Evil opened at the start of the 4th of July holiday weekend. To date, it has grossed $15 million since opening Wednesday, July 2nd, but box office analysts are focusing their targets on the film’s $9.5 million weekend gross and taking fire. Understandable. That’s a pretty weak weekend performance. It was up against the new comedy Tammy and holdovers likes Transformers, 22 Jump Street and How to Train Your Dragon. If you recall, Deliver Us from Evil was pushed up from its original 2015 release date because Sony was so confident in the film that it thought Deliver could earn some big bucks akin to The Conjuring’s mid-summer success last year.
Regardless of the quality of Deliver Us from Evil, I honestly think the film would have had a tough go of it at the box office because, more or less…audiences are getting supernatural fatigue.
We’re receiving word this afternoon that Insidious Chapter 3 will open a little over one month later than intended in 2015. Instead of finding the film in theaters April 3rd, you can now expect the supernatural thriller to open on May 29, 2015.
The first Insidious told the story of Josh and Renai Lambert and their son Dalton, confronting the demons that possess the young boy.
