Gothica’s cast continues to grow and, today, Melissa George (30 Days of Night, Hunted) has signed up to star, playing opposite female lead Janet Montgomery. According to Deadline, she’ll play a “formidable force.”
Currently, Gothica is only at the pilot stage, so if this proposed television drama does impress ABC, it could get scrapped like so many pilots do.
Janet Montgomery of Entourage and The Hills Run Red has landed a role in CBS’ pilot Gothica. According to Deadline, the actress will play the lead, Grace Van Helsing, a New York journalist who takes over her family’s newspaper.
According to the site, “Dorian Gray provides her with the $20 million she needs to retain control of the paper, and she was romantically involved with Victor Frankenstein years ago.”
We’ll be reporting on a lot of television projects going to pilot this season. The thing you have to keep in mind is that not all of them will have what it takes to become a full-fledged series. With that said, let me introduce you to Gothica (not to be confused with Halle Berry’s Gothika).
Gothica is a project at ABC that culls varioius literary characters in horror and mashes them into a drama. According to Deadline, Chris Egan and Tom Ellis are the first to be cast as Dorian Gray and Victor Frankenstein, respectively.
Egan (pictured) was seen in Resident Evil: Extinction as “Mikey.”
