Since we started this week with a John Carpenter film announcement (Body Bags) it is fitting with end it with another...The master's 1987 cult classic PRINCE OF DARKNESS - our #1 most requested title - will be coming this fall and presented as a Collector's Edition on DVD and Blu-ray! \

Content announced today that Outpost III: Rise of the Spetsnaz has sold all US rights to XLrator Media, which successfully released Outpost II: Black Sun last year.

Image Entertainment has acquired all U.S. rights to the Cyclone Productions, Inc./Robert Weinbach production thriller, Shiver.
Directed by UK-based, multi-film festival award-winner Julian Richards, UK’s multi film fest award winner, the film is based on the novel by New York Times best selling Author Brian Harper (a.k.a. Michael Prescott), who has over one million copies of his novels in circulation.
The film stars Danielle Harris, John Jarratt and Casper Van Dien and features TV actors Rae Dawn Chong, Valerie Harper and European action-star Brad Harris.

With the Cannes film market upon us, Stealth Media has revealed that is in pre-production on The Hatchling.
The film is expected to be delivered in the 2nd quarter of 2014.
Set on the Somerset moors, The Hatchling marks the feature film debut of veteran commercials and documentary director Michael Anderson.
The screenplay is the work of Sabre Films originator, Nick Squire, who has based the concept of two Somerset dwelling, man-eating crocodiles - a true story circulating since his school days.

Katie Aselton takes a step away from the "dramedy" realm for the thriller Black Rock, opening in select theaters today from LD Distribution.
In the film, three childhood friends (played by Aselton, Kate Bosworth, Lake Bell) set aside their personal issues and reunite for a girls' weekend on a remote island off the coast of Maine. One wrong move turns their weekend getaway into a deadly fight for survival.
Aselton directed from a script by Mark Duplass, who is known for films like Baghead and Jeff, Who Lives at Home and has slowly been creeping into the horror-thriller genre.

Well, bad news for that Zombieland series that was at Amazon. After debuting the pilot episode a few weeks back, Amazon has decided not to take it to series.
Customers were invited to view the pilot and voice their feedback. That feedback was going to help Amazon determine whether it should move forward with a series. Those behind the project are welcome to take it elsewhere. So, what does this mean for pilot director Eli Craig (Tucker and Dale Versus Evil)? Well, he's got his next film set up.

We Are What We Are, Jim Mickle's remake of Jorge Grau's film, is hitting Cannes and, inside, you can check out a clip. eOne has already taken U.S. rights to the flick. We're just awaiting a release date.
Meanwhile, AJ Annila (Sauna) has been enlisted to direct a prequel to Mickle's remake, says Screen Daily. The film will be called What We Were. Jorge Grau is currently at work on a treatment for and will direct a sequel.
Memento Films International is handling sales at Cannes.
