While some ShockTillYouDrop.com readers might be tiring of the number of horror remakes we've been seeing on a regular basis, Screen Gems' new take on
The Stepfather, directed by TV vet Nelson McCormick, puts a different spin on the 1987 slasher movie starring Terry O'Quinn.
This time around, "Nip/Tuck" star Dylan Walsh takes on the title role of the killer who changes his identity every time he meets a new woman, charms his way into her life in hopes of finding the perfect family, then leaves a trail of bodies when things inevitably don't work out as planned.
ShockTillYouDrop.com had a chance to sit down with the cast of the psychological thriller, Dylan Walsh and Sela Ward who plays his latest prey Susan; Penn Badgley from "Gossip Girl" plays her son Michael, who suspects his mother's new beau and Amber Heard plays Michael's girlfriend Kelly. We talked to them about whether they'd seen the original movie, the decision to switch the hero's gender, why the premise still works so well these days, and what motivates the title character to kill the families once he realizes they're not working out.
The Stepfather opens on Friday, October 16.

Dylan Walsh is awsome. My favorite film was him in the 1995 film,"Congo" about a zoologist and a talking sign language gorilla named Amy. They along with group of tourists find a treasure trove of diamonds in the lost ape city of the Congo, Africa. I haven't seen this film yet and I was a fan of the original Stepfather in the 1980s. This should be good.
