The Trailer for Sam Raimi's Drag Me to Hell!

March 11, 2009

Dammit, I LOVE this movie. And the trailer serves as an awesome reminder of how much I dig it.

Well, as we told you earlier this morning, the trailer for Drag Me to Hell (early thoughts) was approachin'. And now here it is! You can watch the preview in QuickTime and Flash here!

Click here for ten new hi-res photos!

Christine Brown (Alison Lohman) is an ambitious L.A. loan officer with a charming boyfriend, professor Clay Dalton (Justin Long). Life is good until the mysterious Mrs. Ganush (Lorna Raver) arrives at the bank to beg for an extension on her home loan. Should Christine follow her instincts and give the old woman a break? Or should she deny the extension to impress her boss, Mr. Jacks (David Paymer), and get a leg-up on a promotion? Christine fatefully chooses the latter, shaming Mrs. Ganush and dispossessing her of her home.

In retaliation, the old woman places the powerful curse of the Lamia on Christine, transforming her life into a living hell. Haunted by an evil spirit and misunderstood by a skeptical boyfriend, she seeks the aid of seer Rham Jas (Dileep Rao) to save her soul from eternal damnation. To help the shattered Christine return her life to normal, the psychic sets her on a frantic course to reverse the spell. As evil forces close in, Christine must face the unthinkable: how far will she go to break free of the curse?

Sam Raimi directs from a script he penned with his brother Ivan. Look for it in theaters on May 29th!

Looks awesome. I've been waiting for word "horror" and the name "Raimi" together again for some time. Should be great!

F U C K Yeah!! way to go Raimi, now could you give us EVIL DEAD IV??

one word... WOW! A master will return us to true horror... amazing.

Looks bad, that song that sounds like a cover sounds bad too, still not going to see this.
Come on Raimi,if you're going to cater to the
PG-13 horror crowd, then also cater to the rated R horror crowd by also making rated R horror movies.

For real, where did Raimi's courage go?
His uncompromising vision that is,completely
gutless he has become. Thank gosh for Wes Craven,Barker, and John Carpenter for at least
not stooping right at the level Raimi is at
still when it comes to horror movies. Call
me over dramatic maybe,I don't care.

This is going to be good.

From what i hear Raimi and his brother Ivan are planning out Evil Dead 4 now but don't expect it to come out any timesoon till atleast after Spiderman 4 and 5.

Saad, what in God's name are you talking about? "That song that sounds like a cover sounds bad too?" It's a piece of music from another soundtrack. I'll never understand the PG-13 versus R debate. As long as it's a good film, it shouldn't matter what the ****in' rating is.

Looks mediocre at best.

mrs ganush lol makes me want to see it even more

Posted by: Saad on March 11, 2009 at 18:52:35

This song I was complaining about, the original version of it is better,as far as this movie goes booooo. I'm still going by the opinion
that these cheesie and light PG-13 horror
movies are what is running the horror movie genre into the ground(cinematically speaking),of course I do think there are other offenders such as one terrible sequel of whatever after the next. I won't complain about
remakes, because to be fair each remake of a horror movie that I wanted to see and have seen
left me pleased as the end result. And to make it perfectly clear,I don't have a problem
calling out a bad remake of a horror movie
crap if I invested the day and/or time and energy into it.

meh! PG-13 come on is supossed to be Horror PG-13's horror movies always suck! if im wrong tell me some pg13 movie that kicks ass oh there' only one i thin Poltergeist

Posted by: djblack1313 on March 11, 2009 at 23:26:44

someone on the BD site posts has seen the test R version and he/she said that even the UNCUT version is NOT a hard R by any means. there's NO nudity or extreme language and has an eyeball popping/gouging. no really hard gore other than that.

i have a doubt about this... i dont think it's the return of true horror at all... but i guess to prove myself wrong ill have to wait till may twenty something...

Posted by: Jason on March 16, 2009 at 23:21:17

hopefully it's not pg-13, if it is, it's no return to true horror, it's just another crappy movie.

if it's rated-R, alright then, i might watch it. it looks like so many other supernatural movies.
