like him
sounds to be a very expensive movie.

God forgive me, I might actually see this remake...

this is a good addition! so far so good.

so am i reading that right - they're going to start filming next month and yet they haven't decided on who's going to be Freddy yet?
i guess that's how these remakes work anymore

It's not strange for casting decisions to come down to the wire. I'm sure they'll have someone locked by month's-end.

Hope they completely come up with a new burnt look. Maybe something close to Darkman or Two-Face in the Dark Knight to give it a very graphic look.

You know Krewger, that Two-Face thing doesn't sound half bad, provided they didn't burn his cheeks completely off. That just wouldn't look like Freddy. If they blended the two, the old school Freddy and the "new-school" Two-Face, that could be wicked cool.
Still on the fence about the movie itself, what with Robert not coming back, but hey, I also thought Heath Ledger's playing the Joker was going to completely ruin The Dark Knight. :P

Always good to see new up-and-coming make-up FX guys landing major film gigs, and proudly carrying on the tradition of **** Smith,Rick Baker,Tom Savini, and the KNB FX guys. 8)8)

I feel sorry for who ever gets the job as Freddy. That person will have his potrayal so scrutinized. Robert Englund is Freddy, I just can't see anyone else doing it. Even if the story line is better and looks great, the only problem with it is no Robert.

Clement sounds promising, but I'd still like to see Andy (Gollum) Serkis as Freddy!

I think the best make-up Freddy ever had was in parts 3 and 4 and Freddy vs. Jason. Anyone agree?
Posted by: Evan on March 5, 2009 at 16:20:05
it did look pretty good in freddy vs jason..
i dont see why they have to give him a new look though..

Andy Clement is a great pick. He will be faced with producer demands, which could limit the design. Miller did a good job with the first makeup, but proved himself amateur with part 5. Yagher did a great job on 2-4. Part two's design had these great scary contact lenses, but where eventually abandoned. Freddy's makeup design went terribly downhill after that. That's an understatement. I'm hoping for a House of wax feel and a sweater without stripes on the sleeves:)

I think they should interview ben foster for Freddy. He's a good actor as well as being a little creepy. He played the stranger in thirty days and nights.

yes i do but freddy has to have a good look and a good story line .
