I REALLY hope that they do a sequel to this new Friday the 13th and that they get Derek Mears back as Jason! :-) He's great! :-)

SUPER DUPER AWESOME! These gorgeous horror movies are perfect for sleepovers! I can't wait for the 2010 Friday the 13th sequel, and more updated Friday the 13th sequels as well. I am such a fan of the entire Friday the 13th franchise.
LONG LIVE JASON VOORHEES ----- THE BEST HORROR MOVIE VILLIAN IN THE WORLD!

the new F13 was fkn great, best jason movie, IMHO
random: they should redo 'fear and loathing' w freddy and jason
Posted by: Dax on February 27, 2009 at 10:00:14
All you guys are idiots. They keep shoveling crap and you keep eating it.
Posted by: Derek on February 27, 2009 at 10:09:03
The faster they can get a draft written, the better. They can get immediate feedback on any mistakes or not-so-favorite parts of the new film out now and take those into consideration.
Hope you're staying in this weekend, Shannon and Swift. You've got some work to do.
Posted by: ARTaylor on February 27, 2009 at 11:39:18
Well I'll admit that the new F13 was my favorite of the series, so yes I will look forward to a sequel. As long as it doesn't involve Frankenstein-ish resurrections, psychics, worms, space, or Freddy. Just keep it grounded. Psychopath in the woods, that's all we really want.
Posted by: MistAh BlistAh on February 27, 2009 at 12:28:02
Dax is right, we're all idiots because HE didn't like the movie or prolly hasn't even seen it.
It's not like it's possible the movie was great and Mears is easily one of the best Jasons ever. Screw what the majority thinks, Dax says its crap so it's gotta be...
*rolls eyes*

"the new “Friday” is expected to be not a sequel so much as a follow-up"
What does that even mean?
Posted by: Jaguar on February 27, 2009 at 14:58:56
LMAO@BlistAH!!
I do think that it was probably the best in the series. Not that that will say much. The F13th was always kinda the least serious, and campiest of all the slashers.
There are some questions that need to be answered, like what the hell did they mean "Jason came back, and was there when his mother died"... how the F did he come back? did his mom practice voodoo?? eeehhhhh... on second thought? Don't answer that question.
I do agree, I think Mears is hands down the best Jason ever! However, only if he kills Mr. Pretty-Boy-Demon-Hunter Jared Padalecki. How the hell does one guy go toe-to-toe with Jason, and come out with only a couple of scratches?? No. No. No. He should be all f'd up, and need to get to the hospital for staples, stat. And he's not a psychopath...
yeeesh. He's just a really pissed off, territorial pot grower (don't mess with his stash, man. he'll kill you!)... and that was just RAD!
Posted by: Mykl on February 27, 2009 at 22:05:42
Well it needs to start with the end of the reboot (maybe with one of siblings telling the story that makes up the sequel in flashbacks to the cops or so) and also explain that damn truck driving away with the one guy on it… maybe that farmer becomes like Ralph for the reboots.
Posted by: Captain_Arlong on February 28, 2009 at 01:10:38
"how the F did he come back? did his mom practice voodoo??"
Um.. Common sense would dictate that she THOUGHT he drowned and died, because it had just happened and she started her killing spree right then and there, and there was just 1 victim left at the start of the movie. But whoops! She should have stayed by the shore longer to see that Jason DIDN'T drown.
And umm.. Seriously... Did you watch the movie? The redneck farmer's assistant was the one growing the pot.
Think before you post next time. Think before you shoot your mouth off and make yourself look like an idiot because of your blind hatred towards remakes or because you didn't understand something in a movie because you don't have any common sense.

i'm happy they'll try to bring a new story. I'm sure they want to try something originall and i'm sure they wanna rid of paramount too!
Posted by: Lefty from Mulberry Street..... on February 28, 2009 at 08:25:48
I actually liked the re-boot. I took it at face value and went into it not expecting too much and that's definitely been the difference maker. If you're going into a film like that expecting to be "moved" or "enlightened" in any way then forget it...
Derek Mears was my favorite Jason to date! He was strong, fast, athletic and adept with hunting for survival. I think that made him much more believable and/or realistic. If they do another one I don't see it being much different than the first so perhaps they should just leave it alone from here?

i loved the movie but the script/writers are TERRIBLE. how do they keep getting work? WTF?! i'm not entirely sure if their script was eff'd with by studio heads and the like but....come on. "say hi to mommy..IN HELL".!!??!! when Whitney says that i totally cringed at the line (it wasn't the awesome Amanda Righetti's fault. it was the awful line/dialogue! LOL).
Posted by: cw2k1 on February 28, 2009 at 10:14:05
Maybe Jason never drowned...and his mother was just bat**** crazy; using that as an excuse to do what she did. It doesn't matter if it's true or not or if it really happened. If the conviction and belief in something is strong enough, you'll do it. After all...this sort of thing happens every day in the real world. (Look at modern day terrorists. They really do believe they're going to a virgin filled heaven for doing what they do...)
Posted by: Dax on February 28, 2009 at 13:16:23
Did I piss you off, MistAh BlistAh? lol. Interesting that you think that because "the majority" likes something, it must be good. Hmm.
Posted by: CCR on February 28, 2009 at 13:29:38
@Dax
just becuz u can't enjoy a movie for wut it is (it's a ****ing JASON movie ferfuksake!!!) doesn't make u special, except maybe in a retarded way
Posted by: Feenix on February 28, 2009 at 15:57:58
Note to Shannon & Swift: Better kills, less complex/ convoluted plot. Fix certain ludicrous decisions on behalf of your survivor(s). Keep Mears.
This movie wasn't great by any stretch of the term. Derrick Mears was an excellent Jason. Now if only they gave him something interesting to do.
I'm all for a sequel that hopefully fixes some of the problems the new F13 had.
Posted by: STUDMUFFIN on February 28, 2009 at 17:47:00
i wish i could do my own jason movie :D
has anyone ever thought of doing that??
i already got some ideas planned out haha
i wonder how the movie would look like if Zack Snyder directed it lol
there'd be slow-mo all over the place haha
Posted by: Viktor on February 28, 2009 at 23:30:57
What if Neil Marshall did this movie. It would have been a hell of a lot better. I'm with Dax, this movie was an embarrassment. It was like watching the 3 stooges at camp blood.
Seriously, this was not good. If you like good horror, this was not it.
And a sequel? Please NO!

"Amanda Righetti and Jared Padalecki's involvement is up in the air as well due to scheduling"
