Update: Behind-the-Scenes of Rec 2
February 8, 2009
A Shock reader pointed us to a Television 3 news report from November that went behind-the-scenes of the upcoming
Rec 2 - you can watch the footage
here.
Update! Here is a translation provided by "Nuria."
(Off) The Rambla de Catalunya is closed: policemen, firemen, ambulances, tension... it's ok, it's only the shooting of a terror film, the sequel of the terrifyng ans successful REC of directors Jaume Balagueró and Paco Plaza. Nobody knows any details about the plot, nobody at the shooting knows what it's happenning, reality and fiction mix up.
Man (Actor): I'm an onlooker, see? I'm just looking at everything that's going on, nosing around, then a reporter comes to me and I want to clarify to him what's its happening.
(Off) 400 extras, some of them havins the same role as real life
Policeman: I'm a real traffic policeman and I was sent today here to be an extra, and I have come here with my own service bike, and well, here I am, as an extra.
Woman (a neighbour): it figures that we're being evacuated very quickly, and that you have to take just a few things with you; just your pijamas, a robe and a blanket.
Fireman: I don't know anything yet, and I really don't understand a thing about what it's going on here...
(Off) the real life experiences lived by this professionals collide with this make up experience
Fireman: the firemen suits are all too clean and that just doesn't fit...you know?
Policemen: we can't never imagine something like this happening in real life and beyond...
(Off) The extras are enjoying in a world where the imagined is violent and the reality is fun.
Reporter:This is the reality of fiction; a tragedy nobody would want to experience, but that, paradoxically, a lot would like to see in theaters.
Jaume Balaguero and Paco Plaza are currently in post-production on their sequel to the genuinely creepy Spanish horror film
Rec (
review). Little is known about the plot but, according to Filmax International, "the same talented directors stick to the same claustrophobic concept in REC 2, but find new means of transferring fear from the screen to the spectator through the recording lens."

The footage is not in spanish is in catalan.
In a few words, it says that "La Rambla" one of the most important streets in Barcelona was close due to the shooting of REC 2 at 3 a.m.

Catalan is a form of spanish, just like there's british and american english, whatever.
Can't wait to see the sequel, I wonder if that thing at the end of the first flick's gonna make a cameo or would have an important role in 2nd.

I'm sorry but catalan is not a form of spanish is a language.
Please don't understand this as a politic line because I hate politics, is just a note.
Regards and I hope to see REC 2 soon too.

I loved Rec. Dont bother with Quarentine, just a poor remake, stick with the original

Never saw REC, but saw Quarantine...was pretty boring. I can't imagine REC was too much better, but I could be wrong.
