Could be interesting if they do it right. Should I say first? hmmm, Nah!
Posted by: Matt on January 25, 2009 at 14:50:12
that would be terrible, my bloody valentine was one of the worst made for tv movies ive ever seen. saw doesnt need a gimmick just a good director for once and a solid story w/o a bunch of characters you dont care about. go back to your roots. the original saw was the best and will always be.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOo! SAW IS TOO GOOD FOR 3D BULL****. Don't do it twisted pictures!
Posted by: Mark on January 25, 2009 at 15:02:15
This is a terrible idea. They need to keep making saws but with good stories not in 3d!
Posted by: k on January 25, 2009 at 15:18:08
this could work. if done carefully.
first of all, before anything else, do not make the 6th movie 3D, and also END the series with the 6th. we dont need a movie within the normal continuity to be randomly 3D.
then, as a side-story type film, do a Saw 3D from the perspective of a victim in a death trap. a new death trap, but one that takes place between the movies somewhere that we didnt see, like with characters that never continued into other movies. maybe do the film taking place between 2 and 3, where its Amanda's trap and everyone dies in the end. that way, its not a totally random thing, and it wont have to be strategically placed into the story somewhere where it doesnt fit. plus you get the full-on scary 3D attacks when its from the victims perspective.

I agree with what k said. Maybe that could work, but to be honest I don't like the sound of any SAW movies in 3D.
The SAW movies actually try to take themselves seriously so putting it in 3D would really ruin its reputation and cheese it up.

PLEASE DO NOT SCREW UP THE SAW FRANCHISE BY GOING 3D!
I HAVE BEEN THE BIGGEST FAN OF THE FRANCHISE AND THIS WILL RUIN IT, TRUST ME. EACH FILM HAS GROSSED OVER $100,000,000 WITH NO 3D. THINK ABOUT IT.
I SAW MY BLOODY VALENTINE WITH HOPES THE 3D WOULD ELEVATE THE EXPERIENCE, BUT IT ONLY DAMPENED IT. THE 3D TECHNOLOGY IS NOT UP TO PAR YET. TRUTH BE TOLD IT SUCKS ASS. ALL IT DOES IS DISTRACT AND BLUR THE SCREEN. STUPID!
I UNDERSTAND YOU THINK YOU WANT TO DO SOMETHING REFRESHING WITH THE SERIES TO CONTINUE MAKING MONEY AND IN TURN MORE SEQULS, BUT WHY WHEN THEY CONTINUE TO BREAK THE $100M MARK WITHOUT 3D.
I MUST SAY, IF YOU GO 3D I WILL ULTIMATELY STOP GOING TO SEE THEM. IT SUCKS THAT BAD. MY BLOODY VALENTINE WOULD HAVE BEEN AN AWESOME MOVIE IF IT WEREN'T FOR THE 3D. THE GLASSES SUCK TOO.
ALL IN ALL, I GUESS IF YOU DO DECIDE TO GO THE 3D ROUTE BECAUSE YOU "THINK" IT WILL BE BETTER, JUST PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE RELEASE THE FILM IN 2D AS WELL, SO I CAN SEE IT.
I WAIT FOR THE MONTH OF OCTOBER EACH YEAR FOR THE NEXT SAW FILM. PLEASE DONT TAKE THAT AWAY FROM ME.

No 3D.
First of all, i don't see it happening in part 6 which is supposed to be the end, and to make a 7th just for a 3D version is reduntant and i feel it will be very cheesy which this series is not. 3D works with some ideas and not others and this is one of those others.
Posted by: Feenix on January 25, 2009 at 16:29:58
3-D could be cool on a couple of conditions.
The first being that the gimmick can't be in place of a good story. If the script and movie itself are bad, 3-D will only make it worse.
The second is to only release the 3-D version in newer theaters that can adequately present the feature. I keep hearing people s*** on MBV3D because the 3-D didn't work. The theater I saw it in was practically brand new, and the 3-D worked great. It was the most fun I've had in a theater in a while. So don't half-ass it in theaters that can't really do the 3-D. It'll make the experience bad, even if the movie itself is good.

OK THE SIXTH IS NOT SUPPOSED TO BE "THE END." IM NOT SURE WHERE EVERYONE IS GETTING THAT FROM.
LAST ARTICLE I READ ABOUT IT WHERE DARREN AND LEIGH TALK ABOUT THE FUTURE, THEY SAID THEY WOULD CONTINUE MAKING SAW FILMS UNTIL THEY STOP MAKING MONEY.
ALL THE FILMS GROSSED MORE THAN 1000% OF THE BUDGET. ID SAY THEY ARE MAKING MONEY. THEY SAID NOT TO BE SURPRISED IF THERE ARE MORE THAN 10 SAW FILMS BEFORE IT STOPS.
I WELCOME MORE THAN 10 FILMS. I DONT THINK THE STORY IS ANYWHERE CLOSE TO BEING DONE. AND I HOPE TO GOD IT'S.
REGARDLESS, NO 3D FOR ANY OF THEM! AND IF YOU DONT LISTEN TO EVERYONE IN THIS ROOM, PELASE RELEASE IT IN 2D AS WELL. JUST DONT EXPECT TO DOUBLE YOUR MONEY WITH IT. YOU WILL DEFINITELY GET MORE MONEY THOUGH RELEASING IT BOTH WAYS.
YOU WILL GET THE IDIOTS GOING TO TEST IT IN 3D, BUT ALL THE HARDCORE FANS WILL SEE THE 2D FILM. THEN YOU CAN COMPARE THE BUDGET BREAKDOWNS AND SEE FOR YOURSELF.
IF YOU RELEASE SAW 7 IN 3D, IT WONT BE SURPRISED IF THE 8TH IS NOT.
2D FOREVER.

ok FILM GUY first of all the My Bloody Valentine 3D effects were nothing like how you described them, the 3D was absolutely amazing I don't know what screen your are watching. And why is almost every reply so negative, sure Saw V sucked but if Saw 6 is in 3D and if Saw 6 is truly the last Saw then I think it's a great idea. That way they can end the series with a bang.
Posted by: CAPS LOCK on January 25, 2009 at 16:54:57
IF I TALK THE ENTIRE TIME IN CAPS LOCK PEOPLE WILL THINK I AM COOL AND IT WILL MAKE MY ARGUMENT EVEN BETTER THAN IT IS WHICH IS ****TY.
But in all seriousness idk where you saw MBV3-d but the 3-D was definitely not ****ty, story yes ****ty, not the 3-D.
To stay on topic: I hope the producers see how fans have reacted to this ****ty ****ty idea.
Posted by: CAPS LOCK on January 25, 2009 at 16:55:52
You probably went to see the 2-d MBV with 3-D glasses on, Lol.
Posted by: MistAh BlistAh on January 25, 2009 at 17:16:17
Making another entry in the series 3D, could save the series since the last 3 were terrible.
And for the record, My Bloody Valentine 3D rocked. I wish every movie was in 3D, lol.
Posted by: Moviefan935 on January 25, 2009 at 17:25:46
as much as i would love to see more saw films, i think having the 6th one as the last one is a good idea. i agree with zach, itll go out with a bang if there is a good story. it would be perfect :}. the saw films to many are original. 3D? could be good. i didnt see MBV3D, so i cant make any judgement yet, but seeing jigsaws traps up in your face would be terrifying. just give the movie a great story, great characters, good script, and itll be on its way to a legacy. saw rules! XD
Posted by: ????? on January 25, 2009 at 18:15:31
no no no no no, saw in 3d would kill the credibility of the franchise...
Posted by: screamer on January 25, 2009 at 18:49:44
not for 6th but 7th? hahahaha come on guys. i love saw so much but 7th? even rocky was a 6 part serie but guys saw 7 hahaha its like a episodic serie like prison break now :D when we will know the entire story of jigsaw? after 20 saw film?
Posted by: corey on January 25, 2009 at 19:33:16
NO MORE SAW!!
for the love of god just end it already
Posted by: ico on January 25, 2009 at 19:39:57
FILM GUY
It ends with 6.
You might want to check more than your one source. The director for part 6 said he wants to make part 6 end the series with a bang. Tobin Bell only signed on up to part 6 and they have the series planned out for 6 movies and to top it all off, New Line made the deal with the creators of the first film for 5 extra movies, obviously adding up to 6. It even says it on the page for the Saw movies on Wikipedia. James Wan and Leigh Whannell have said they're done with the series after part 6 and New Line said they wont go on with the series any further without them especially since thats when their deal with them ends.

Ico, the article above says the 3-D MIGHT be applied to part 7. That's what the producer told me.
And New Line is not involved with the series in any way.

No

Ryan Rotten
Did he say they might use it in 7 or did they say they might make 7 because of it? In other words were they planning on making 7 to use 3D or were they making 7 anyways? Because everything i've heard says they are only making 6. Everything i wrote on my last post is what i've really heard from many different sources. I screwed up on the production company, i forget which one i heard it from but that is what i've heard.

I love the saw series it's amazing but i don't think the 3D thing will work. The series has been really sucessful so far why mess with it?
Posted by: jon on January 26, 2009 at 08:39:11
If you want to put saw in 3-d make special editions of 1-5 in 3-d. Then when saw 6 comes out on dvd make a special edition of it in 3-d.

You wouldn't get the same effect, if you're gunna put it in 3D, it would have to be in theatres or there's no point. That'd be an extreme waste (money, effort...) if it wasn't...
