"uncut" means kind of cut?

I second krod's q. WTF? Yet another way for "them" to cash in on fans' desire to actually see a director's vision. Is this yet another notch in my beat-stick for Fox?

They can always come up with something new in order to $ell more products. I actually like what Kevin Smith is doing with the aniversery ofChasing Amy. Instead of repackaging the movie with new stuff and charging a bunch for it, he is making a disc of just the bonus materials to go along with the disc that is already. This way it keeps the cost down. Beside who wants more that one copy of the same movie. I also am one of those crazy people that get pi$$ed of when you buy a dvd and then a month later they release another version of the film, to try to milk you for more money. A great example of this was Rob Zombies Halloween which came out originally as a 1 or 2 disc, but then was fallowed months later by a 3 disc version. I waited and boy was I glad because the material on the 3rd disc was awsome, but that doesnt always happen.
All too aften the only new material are pictures and previews, don't waist my time. Money is not easy to come by these days. So tickle my a$$ with a feather and make every dollar worth it, thats all I ask

Uncut means that the film will be released with all of the footage filmed originally will be in the film. A lot times studios cut footage from the film to shorten length, edit content to achieve a certain rating, and to improve quality of the film if the scenes are unnecessary. A lot of times these are releases as deleted scenes.

so this means no regular DVD cut of this "new" footage?! i'm not running out to buy blu-ray for this. i love you Aja, but no!

Fox hasn't even announced this DVD/Blu-Ray yet. It's purely an "if" scenario. "If" it were to happen, what might be on the disc?

Deleted scenes are deleted for a reason. Even "if" this were to happen I'm not the kind of fool that would go buy a DVD for some deleted scenes. I fear we are losing Aja to the Hollywood dollar and that is sad.

It would be cool and much more credible of film makers if they just put their deleted footage on a site like youtube, instead of re-releasing the same film and hoping fans will buy it again... Although I did love the hills have eyes.

I had high hopes for Aja when i saw High Tension. But not only is he basically simply the "French remake director" nowadays, now i'm hearing he actually withheld deleted scenes in that "unrated" cut of Hills Have Eyes '06?! That is not cool in my book. I really would've loved to have seen ALL the deleted scenes back then so i can't help but feel somewhat cheated. I guess just about the ONLY hopes now in terms of French directors are Louis Leterrier; i don't give a damn what fans say, Transporter 2 rocked; and he definitely made the perfect Incredible Hulk movie in which Hulk actually fought someone who wasn't his stinkin' father. Also one to keep on the lookout is Chris Nahon who did the exceptional Jet Li flick Kiss Of The Dragon, and is coming out with the live-action Blood The Last Vampire. The reason i saw there might be hope with those two is that maybe they won't be picking to remake so many movies all of the time much like Aja is now being a remake-whore.
