I personally think it's a good idea. It more smoothly blends the prequel into the storyline of parts 1 & 2. I would have liked to see new footage of Beckinsale but it doesnt bother me that much.

this movie will be good. i wonder if i'll be able to recognise the scene. i usally spot scenes in movies that are similar to previous movie scenes.

So long as this means that they'll do a fourth one that shows the true conclusion of the war, with Selene and Michael bringing it about, I'll be happy.

As for RotL itself, I'm optimistic about it. The last two have been good, and despite the change in directors (which usually makes me very apprehensive), the trailers and pictures make me feel as though this film is on the right track.

I have no problem with Selene being in the film via footage left on the cutting-room floor. They did it with Marlon brando in Superman Returns. I just hope if they decide to make a fourth film, Kate Beckingsale and Scott Speedman will come back for another film.

After this they should have a fourth underworld because in Underworld they shown 3 ancestors. One is Victor, and two is Marcus. There is one more and they havent unveiled yet.
But it'll be cool if they show a prologue of da fourth film because that will be surprising and outstanding idea.

no it was not the ancestor of Micheal because he was the father of the vamps and the Lycans. He married a mortal women which gave birth to 3 kids the third being a mortal boy.

The third was the vampire in the train that was gunned down before she could replace Marcus.

Watch the films again.

You're referring to the 3 rulers of the Vampire clan:
Marcus: the first vampire.
Victor: a former king turned vamp by Marcus.
Emilia: vampire, original unknown, killed in the original Underworld on the train by Lycans as her processional arrived to take over reign of the clan (appeared in Underworld 2 at Victor's side during the opening raid)

There were three direct descendants of Alexander Corvinus (the first immortal): one bitten by bat (Marcus), one bitten by Wolf (William), and a third unnamed who was Micheal Corvin's direct lineage (carrying the pure immortal viral strain).

I can't believe how geeked out that was. d'oh... You should watch again anyways, if nothing else to get pumped for part trois in two weeks.

Glad to Katey is making a comeback :) New footage, old footage - its still Kate Beckinsale in skintight black rubber, are we forgotting this?

If kate is not in is in this one, it seems dumb as hell to see it, why mess up a perfect show. This ruins the idea of a PERFECT TRILOGY or quadgolgy uuhhh

What does everybody keep complaining about? It was always planned for Selene to not be in this movie. It takes place before her time. They've planned this series out from parts 1 to 3.
