Hybrid & Thaw Promo Trailers

Source:Voltage Pictures
January 6, 2009

Voltage Pictures has served up more trailers for two upcoming horror films on their slate.

Let's start with Hybrid, the project formerly known as Hunter, that's directed by Eric Valette (One Missed Call), written by Thirteen Ghosts' Neal Marshall Stevens and stars the Resident Evil franchise's Oded Fehr. Now what we're dealing with here is not just a killer car, but a car that can f**kin' turn into other cars! Read on...

Synopsis: Late one night, a mysterious car is brought into the Chicago police impound garage after a deadly traffic accident. The garage's female mechanic, Tilda, and her young, hip fellow mechanics soon discover the car has a mind of its own: it morphs into different cars to confuse them and instead of needing an engine to run, it breathes. It's a killing machine that is capable of outrunning and outwitting humans.

Watch the trailer here and I hope you agree with me when I say a '80s-style synth score is the best thing that could happen for a film like this.

Next up is The Thaw from Mark Lewis who co-penned the script with Michael Lewis. Martha MacIsaac and Aaron Ashmore play ecology students faced with a deadly parasite that threatens the planet. Watch the film's preview here.

When I make a short-list of movie ideas that have never and will never work, "possessed homicidal car" goes at the top of the list!

Even the tag line on this blows!
