A Hostel 3 Update...

Source:ShockTillYouDrop.com
January 5, 2009

One of the many rumors churned out mid-2008 positioned Scott Spiegel, executive producer of Hostel and Hostel: Part II, as writer and director of the third chapter in Eli Roth's torture-horror series.

This bit 'o news may have been true, or partially true, at the time - what ShockTillYouDrop.com learned over the last week is that Screen Gems is aggressively going out to writers now for Hostel: Part III which will debut on the DVD market. Sources tell us the producers are thinking about setting this entry in the States. Screen Gems, if you recall, has every right to develop a direct-to-disc follow-up as the company owns the home video rights and juggled those duties on the previous two Hostel entries.

What's this mean for Spiegel? Well, he might very well still be involved in a producer capacity, but we know for sure the writer's hat will be placed on someone else and we haven't heard his name being slung around when a director is discussed.

It should start off in Europe then lead to the U.S. and should follow the heads of the corporation. If you think about it, it makes sense because the first followed the victims, the second followed the clients so the third should follow the heads of the U.S. branch as it starts up.

this will be just as bad if not worse then the 2nd one...1st one rocked.

I'll skip this one too. Do we really need a direct-to-DVD sequel to Hostel?

If Eli Roth isn't involved it might actually be decent. I think the torture porn fad is winding down, though. Could be wishful thinking on my part of course. Can we have a badass monster movie fad next, please?

This movie should start in a dirty toilet and get flushed and destroyed along with the all the other POS Eli Roth movies

I don't care if he is directing it or not it's gonna suck ass.....most likely just like all the other "torture porn" crap

I didn't initially like Hostel: Pt II but grew to like it. I lovehow it picks up from the first like 80's horror films used to. Also love that they simply called it "Hostel: Part II" just like the good ole days.

I welcome another sequel...

People are kidnapped and tortured. The End! No real story, its not scary and its not suspenceful because no one cares about the victims. Its just gore. I was actually disturbed by part 2, but not in a good way. Sometimes we shouldn't push the line of decency. It made me feel dirty just watching it.

I didnt mind the Hostel movies, they had a feeling of the horror movies of the 70's and 80's.

Look at my last post for a potentially good idea.

man this is quite strange, i mean spielgel is attach, but no writer then? huh.

They should have Beth and all of the Hostel baddies(that survived Part 2)get their violent,blood-soaked comeuppances in this third film,as well as somehow work the Bubblegum Kids into the new film.

I agree with the above poster, I think that it would be extremely satisfying for the audience and fans of the Hostel films to see those responsible for the farming of innocent humans, made to suffer in the same way...maybe the girl who survived Hostel 2, could orchestrate these events. She has the money, and the guile....especially that ***** who has the bloodbath....man I would love to see her pay her penance...also the guy who is the head of the organisation...all of the ****ers...****, I might even write a screenplay! I think that this would be the best premise for a third and final film in the series. Come on guys, revenge is sweet, and can be just as bloody!!

I agree that Eli Roth is one of the best horror directors. Hostel was monumental. Someone please tell me when the sequal to a horror movie is better than the 1st. Go Eli!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can't believe that some people actually left their telephone numbers thinking that Eli Roth is really going to call them.
