At least we know now that Part 3 will have the 2D version as well.
Posted by: Jack Burton on December 17, 2008 at 06:55:07
Part 3 only comes with ONE pair of 3-D glasses?
Posted by: Doug on December 17, 2008 at 07:40:41
I'm with jack. Who is going to sit and watch a 3-D movie alone?
I hope the 3-D glasses that came with my Nightmare boxset will work on this. If not, I guess I`m borrowing the kid`s Barbie ones....

I bought about a year ago a Region 2 format of the unrated version or at least that's what the description stated. I wonder if it is the unrated version? It has different special features than the regular versions that I have, does anyone know if this is infact an unrated version?

Hey Doug, I don't think you'll be watching it alone considering a pair consists of two, unless you don't have any... well, never mind. The glasses look like they're Polarized (clear) and not Anachrome (red and blue), so that's a good thing. It's just about time Paramount started giving respect to the fans who have supported this franchise for almost thirty years. I wonder if part 3 will ever be released uncut (with the alternate ending) I suppose since it didn't happen now we'll have to wait until F13 redux Part 2. Anyone else notice the unique stills on the back of the DVD cases? Particularly the one with Paul from part 2.

Hello,
You know, I understand business and making money but it irritates me that there is audio commentary on PART ONE when it was not on the box set. It also irritates me that there is no commentary on PART TWO (for both editions) because, two years from today, we will get it and have to pay for it.
Irritating.
A part of me wonders if they recorded the commentary recently or 3-4 years ago when the box set came out and left it out.

Hey Matt,
When you buy a pair of glasses or a pair of pants do you get two? UMMMM NO!
Posted by: G0REH0UND on December 17, 2008 at 12:46:34
Am I the only one who read the fine print on the box for Part One? It only has 10 seconds of additional material???? What a bunch of bulls***!!! Deluxe Edition my a**. Can't believe I've been chomping at the bit over this just to be completely dissappointed.

Hey pazuzu13,
It's already been stated in info for the disc that there will be more than one pair of glasses. I think I heard there would be 3 pairs. Or at least 2.
Posted by: Matt on December 17, 2008 at 14:10:25
Ok paruzu13, I get your point. Pants/glasses... whatever. I'm just saying "a pair" usually consists of two. For instance, the Nightmare DVD boxset came with a pair of glasses... which was two. I think we should just all be happy with what we get. If you don't like it... don't buy it. BTW, the 10 seconds of extra footage actually consists of more gore. If you checked out the deleted material in the Crystal Lake box set, some of the death scenes were extended with more blood and they made a stronger impact. At least they're inexpensive and finally a BluRay Friday!

well a pair is two. but anyway the back loook great i m most interested in the extra like the interview of the director. Al joyes day indeed.

Thanks joe!

About the whole 10 seconds thing, I found this on IMDB. I know, they're not always reliable, but if this is true, 10 seconds may not be so disappointing after all.
"As of the 11/09/2003 the BBFC passed Friday the 13th completely uncut & Warner Bros. have restored the original gory version for release on Region 2 DVD with footage added back in totaling 34 seconds. Much of the extra running time comprises different opening logos but around 11 seconds of gore has been restored to the death scenes of Annie, Marcie, Jack & Pamela Voorhees."
So, if this is right, it's the lost gore but only with the same opening titles we've known in the States for almost 30 years. And I'm not sure, but the framerate for PAL and NTSC differs, so it's possible their 11 seconds is actually equal to our 10 seconds of running time (anybody who can confirm or deny, please fell free).

Matt i noticed the picture of Paul on the back cover art of Part 2, too. this is intriguing because what scene (obviously an excised/deleted scene) that was from. could it be that Paul indeed did die in the movie and that's his corpse? because he clearly looks dead in that pic. hmmmmmmm...

3D rocks!
Posted by: ShadowMan on December 18, 2008 at 05:29:09
A pair of glasses refers to the fact that glasses traditionally have two glass lenses, just as a pair of pants refers to the fact that pants have two pant legs. Anyone who thinks that a pair of glasses means two individual sets of glasses is clearly a moron with no grasp of the english language.

Ok, well I feel a little better after reading Jeremy's post. To bite the ED2 dvd, "the GORE the merrier"!! = )

If anyone's ever seen the "international cut", it's about 10 seconds longer. The whole "uncut" thing is a tad overrated with the exception of one shot. Here's the lowdown:
- Annie's death: An extra second or two as she slides out of frame.
- Marcie's death: An extra second or two as SHE slides out of frame.
- Mrs Voorhees' death: An extra second or two of her headless body as SHE falls out of frame.
- Jack's death: An extra aerial shot of the arrow through his neck, blood spurting as he dies.
That's it, that's all.

If you wear a pair of pants, you aren't wearing two pants...

"is clearly a moron with no grasp of the english language."
Do you know any other language apart from english? I think not, shut your ignorant you arrogant prick.
I was gladly surprised by that picture of Paul, that pretty much confirms that he indeed died in part 2...

The special features box on the back of Friday 2 looks like it was changed at the last minute and hastily put together in order to cover something up. Maybe an additional feature was added, or maybe one was taken away. Hmmmm.

I got mine to review today, and the glasses ARE red/blue, for those who think that they are clear...
Posted by: HellNight on January 22, 2009 at 05:05:48
Actually, the additional scenes of part one are the same as the SVCD release. Just a few seconds added on to each kill scene. Hardly memorable.
