Hope this movie fix some of the (minor) problems with the first. glad Zombies back. kinda sucks that T-Rex is gonna get put on hold now cause that looked like it could be awesome.

oh yeah. very kool. I enjoyed the 1st film, but hopefully the next one they'll be less sex murders. bring it!
Posted by: djblack1313 on December 16, 2008 at 16:39:16
the artwork looks VERY fan made. i'm all up for a 2nd Zombie Halloween. i liked (and own on DVD) his movie, but (over at BD they say this) PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT put Sherri or Daeg (sp?) in this new movie. there's NO need for them. Zombie already spent WAAAAY too much time on Michael's growing up and NO time on developing Laurie & Co.'s characters.

terrible...
Posted by: Scarehuman on December 16, 2008 at 17:30:27
This poster is terrible, from a technical and aesthetic standpoint. For one thing, the picture looks like a photocopy of a photocopy of a photocopy, and the title? H2? Come on, that is soooo "commercial."
I enjoyed the first half of the movie much more than the second. The fact that every single death was so sexed up, the fact that every character was a two dimensional whore, I really didn't care. I hope this movie employs more creativity and plot development, but given the director I hold out no hope.

I agree with djblack1313. He did spend too much time on Michael's childhood. I agree with brandon_fear too; there needs to be less sex murders. Anyways, I for one can't wait for this. The original Halloween is my favorite film, but I'm not going to let that stop me from liking what Zombie does with Halloween. He can make a whole new series and I'd be happy. I love his work.

I think Zombie's version of Halloween was by far the greatest in the series. Having him back to do the next one is the best news I've heard.
Posted by: Charley Brewster on December 16, 2008 at 18:46:11
Zombie already took the Halloween franchise "to the next level" of suckdom once, I'm sure he can do it again.
Posted by: dave on December 16, 2008 at 18:52:40
In a world where Halloween was going to be remade with or without Rob Zombie, I thought the movie was watchable.
Posted by: Jack Burton on December 16, 2008 at 19:07:18
Now I guess the question is... is he going to remake Halloween 2 or do something original for a change?
Posted by: Iloveslasherfilms! on December 16, 2008 at 19:23:56
Personally, I'm pumped about this. I thought Zombie's vision was utterly disturbing, working well with "early-Michael" plot material while managing to make Michael the "Boogyman who can't be stopped" in the second half. It forced me to wonder: Okay, so, he's a real person with a messed-up past, but what has happened to make him the unstoppable killing machine he is? HOW, exactly, is Michael unstoppable? That, I believe, is the unanswered question that disturbed me, and why I thought the remake was great: the blend of realism and Carpenter's Micahel. And taking Michael "to the next level" could be really friggin' scary, in terms of his pure, evil, "unstoppability." Go, Zomb. I'm behind you 100 percent!!!

Jack Burton, i think it's already been said (either here or over at BD) that this NEW Halloween will NOT be a remake of Rosenthal's HALLOWEEN. that's why i think this could be really cool. it's basically going to be an 'original-ish' entry in the Halloween franchise.

im glad this is happening....but DO NOT GO ON TO A THIRD! leave it at two.

You guys supported the remake, now you get more crap. Congratulations to all involved for not making an original horror film. In fact, how many original horror films can be made with this kind of budget?

the poster is bad cuz its all net images they just tossed some thing to gether in like 10 min just to see the reaction. this poster is not ment to be any thing els but a reaction getter. ppl get a grip this is not a full on teaser and real graphic artist should know that. and hey rob if you want a teaser done by a fan who loved ur movie and loves halloween shoot me an email go to: www.salvatorelomedico.com to contact me my graphic art resembles ur movie directing style. all contact info on wed site.

damn that was fast...it makes me wonder if Rob Zombie always had this project in his pocket even though he denies it...
Posted by: vic_segma on December 16, 2008 at 23:00:43
gonna suck, it's being rushed for this coming halloween....
Posted by: jhavok on December 17, 2008 at 00:51:39
I don't know Rob move on your remake was just ok compared to the original I am a Die Hard fan of the original Halloween's your better staying away from remakes.
Posted by: mojo80 on December 17, 2008 at 01:02:03
How anyone could be excited by this is beyond me. It's a sequel to, let's face it, a very poor remake of a classic gospel of a horror movie. It's being rushed, literally, instead of just feeling rushed like the first movie.
Visually Zombie is awesome, story wise and plot wise, Zombie needs help big time. Writing and acting is not good, just my opinion. That's great if you disagree with me but, if you think the acting and writing in his film was just fine, then I question your love of the original severely.
I didn't like any character in his version...not any, and I wanted Laurie dead....and first.
Zombie needs to direct someone else's screenplay and then after about ten of those he can tackle his own and that will be the change from a mediocre writer and good director to someone who possibly could rival the likes of a Tarantino.

@mojo80, jhavok and pretty much everyone else hating on Zombie's remake.
The fact that you all call the original Halloween a "classic gospel of a horror movie" or something along those lines, kinda confirms right there that your opinions are biased. I'm a huge Friday the 13th fan, and being so, I fully admit that I'm biased and I can pretty much guarantee that, no matter how good it is, the remake will be my least favorite of the series (that's even including Jason goes to Hell and Jason X).
Die hard fans don't like to have their favorite franchises messed with, no matter how good the remakes end up being we'll have blinders are. You should at least admit that your opinions are biased and as such, maybe not completely informed or impartial opinions.
Posted by: GammaBob on December 17, 2008 at 02:16:42
On the subject of the actual article though...I'm definetely not crazy about the poster...or the title for that matter "H2"? What's the deal with shortening movie titles. "ID4", "AVP" "T2" "X2" etc. I don't know why but that sh_t annoys me for some reason.
Posted by: mojo80 on December 17, 2008 at 09:36:05
Of course I'm bias. I tend to always be bias towards original work.
GammaBob, don't you get angry at the thought of having the movie you love and respect so much being raped in front of you or, like everyone else, do you just accept it and hope for the best? The fact is Zombie's version wasn't good, so it wouldn't matter if I was bias anyway. I can give credit where credit is due, just not there my friend. I thought more people would have disliked it because it lacked a plot and emotional substance but, alas people thought it kicked ass for some reason, yet I can never get a straight forward answer from anyone who claims to love it....without them saying....."Ok well completely disregard the original...." For someone who is such a fan of the original, Zombie really did disregard it completely. SO the fans cheer and we enter this age of remakes even further.
In this age of remakes we are forced to be subjected to a white trash ***** Michael Myers who tracks down his sister and wants her to kill him....wha? Where Leatherface and his family are not cannibals but baby-snatchers....wha? Where Jason wears A&F as runs through underground tunnels he dug himself....isn't he supposed to be retarded....wha? I shutter to see what Nu Freddy has in store for us. The baton has clearly been passed to the fans here, to create the next generation of horror...that is unless you want more remakes that suck, that suck in 3 dimensions, horror movies rated PG-13, that have a chick ghost, that have a little girl ghost, that have a Japanese ghost, or horror movie's that are cast by the CW.
Get angry people.
