December 4, 2008
After the, to be honest, okay teaser trailer for Friday the 13th (set visit), we were itchin' to see more. I guess you could say, in some respects, the teaser did its job. Tease. The full trailer is now upon us! And as we first told you here (with a look at the poster), this lovingly crafted preview recalls the 1980 trailer's "body count." Compare below and read on for the official synopsis we got our paws on.
Searching for his missing sister, Clay heads up to the eerie woods of legendary Crystal Lake where he stumbles on the creaky remains of rotting old cabins that lie in wait behind moss-covered trees. And that's not the only thing hiding under the brush. Against the advice of police and cautions from the locals, Clay pursues what few leads he has with the help of a young woman he meets among a group of college kids up for an all-thrills weekend. But they are about to find much more than they bargained for. Little do they know, they've entered the domain of one of the most terrifying specters in American film history - the infamous killer who haunts Crystal Lake armed with a razor-sharp machete...Jason Voorhees.
Friday the 13th - starring Jared Padalecki, Amanda Righetti, Derek Mears, Danielle Panabaker, Travis Van Winkle and Aaron Yoo - opens in theaters on February 13th.

"Searching for his missing sister..."
They certainly didn't try for any originality with the plotting on this... to put it extra-mildly.

I already want them all dead.

No surprises now on how Jason will kill the (13) people....! The trailer had them all minus the gore, which I'll be paying too much for when it comes out!!!

As for the tunnels I'm not to bothered about this it's still a Jason movie and thats what counts.

Hoo-ray! All you people will be allowing Michael Bay to keep re-making classic horror films into cliche pieces of crap!
Keep up the great work and help us stamp out any original horror films! We need more re-imagings and less original movies!
I also like how realism = running. When you do that, it looks like a guy in a bad costume who can't act.
Liked watching the original trailer again. Bay won't trick me by ripping it off.

Sill looks a little too similar to the TCM remake for my tastes, but I'm a little more confident now.

So... No one has a problem with him having a hockey mask here?
Posted by: jhavok on December 5, 2008 at 20:27:01
I thought the trailer looked good with one very big exception if Jason starts running like they show in the preview it will ruin this movie for me. Rob Zombie did it with Michael Myers also. What one of the most frightning elements of these two classic killers is that no matter how fast you run or where you hide they seem to just appear. They aren't track stars. What the hell are they thinking?
Posted by: Dan on December 5, 2008 at 20:58:06
Jhavok, you're way too stuck in the bad sequels. Remember watching Parts 2, 3 and 4? If you missed it, Jason chased his victims by running after them. It was until Part 6 when he became a rotten corpse zombie and walked slowly. So what they're thinking...is right. This isn't a sequel, not really a remake, but a reboot to the franchise. Like Batman Begins and The Dark Knight, and Casino Royale.
As a matter of fact, way too many people are addicted to seeing Jason run. Watch the first 4 films (those were the best in my opinion) and you'll understand why he's running in all the previews.

Are you guys saying it's scarier to see the bad guy slowly walking toward you like an old lady? Wouldnt it be scarier to see him running at you like a badass? I like the running better, the slow walk is old, thats the whole point with these remakes/reimaginings, if they wanted to do the same thing over and over and over again they would have done another sequel and if this were a sequel you guys would be saying "another one?" They wanted to refresh the series and to get a new audience and to do that they need to kick things up. We need something new. I feel this could be the kick-off to a completely new series that could be even better than the original.
