Update: Seagal Battles Vamps in Against the Dark

He's not falling head over heels for a golden-eyed, handsome bloodsucker in the environs of Forks, Washington. No sir, Steven Seagal doesn't have time for Twilight-inspired love affairs. He's got his adept hands tied kicking vampire ass in the upcoming Against the Dark.

Sony Pictures Home Entertainment will release the action horror film, formerly known as Last Night, on DVD February 10th. Cinematographer Richard Crudo (American Pie) makes his directorial debut with Against which also stars Tanoai Reed (best known as The Rock's stunt double) and Skye Bennett (Dark Floors).

Open wide, here comes the official synopsis: Katana master Tao (Steven Seagal) leads a special ops squad of ex-military vigilantes on a massacre mission, their target: vampires. On the post-apocalyptic globe, sucked dry by bloodthirsty vampires, a few remaining survivors are trapped in an infected hospital. Tao is their only hope and he knows the only cure is execution. Now it's time for the last stand against the flesh-eating vampires and there's nothing left to lose but the last of humanity.

Sony's DVD will host a featurette entitled Fighting the Shadows: Behind the Scenes of Against the Dark. Update: Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has revealed the cover art!

You ever notice how many of Steven Seagal's movies have only three words in the title?
Against the Dark, Out for Justice, On Deadly Ground, Half Past Dead, Fire Down Below, The Glimmer Man, Marked for Death, Hard to kill...
It's not just me, is it?

Three more words....SOUNDS LIKE CRAP!

AWWW, come on guys, let's give it a looksee before we pan it. Maybe it will be a good comedy??? I guess it will be out on DVD or DTV?

He's still alive?

Posted by: joe asylo on December 1, 2008 at 17:01:10

yeah really lose the ponytail.

Posted by: Kris Avalon on December 1, 2008 at 17:52:12

Steven Seagal lost the ponytail a long time ago. Jean Claude Van Damme lost out to a role to Seagal because he was willing to cut his hair. As for the other comments, you guys are pretty funny with the panning of this film. Keep 'em coming.

I'd rather see Will Sasso as Steven Seagal than Steven Seagal as Steven Seagal in this piece of s**t

Posted by: Darkseid on December 1, 2008 at 19:56:19

Who keeps putting him in movies. Are they that desperate to make a movie?

Posted by: David Ryals on December 1, 2008 at 21:47:44

**** ALL YOU *******S!!! This is going to be the best film ever made. Viva Seagal!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Posted by: ico on December 1, 2008 at 22:50:38

Rumor has it that he has some friends in the mob who produce his movies.

Posted by: Space Monkey on December 1, 2008 at 23:19:41

HAHAHA

I honestly can't even offer up a legit comment. This is just too funny!

I haven't seen a Seagal movie since Half Past Dead, but I'll definitely be all over this one.

I think it's a good fit IMO, as Steven Seagal and Vampires both have one important thing in common - It's in their nature to suck.

Posted by: Steven Millan on December 2, 2008 at 18:21:03

Shhhhhhhhhhhhh.......Vern(Ain'tItCool's official Seagal fan"geek"/Seagal film reviewer)might hear you and swing a mighty mean aikido chop for the honor of his favorite actor(since we know how much he loves Seagal and his films).

BTW:looks like Seagal has caught the horror bug,for maybe we'll be seeing him drift into sci-fi films(since he was Fox Studio's original choice to replace Arnold Schwarzenegger in "Predator 2"),westerns,and--heck!!--even wield a mean looking butcher knife(in a DTV slasher film).

Posted by: Lonewolf on December 10, 2008 at 15:31:01

Steven Seagal is awful and so are his movies. Him battling vampires doesn't make it any better.
