Neveldine, Taylor Vexed About Hex

Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor are leaving Jonah Hex in the dust. According to Variety, the pair behind Crank, its upcoming sequel and Game, starring Gerard Butler, have left the DC Comics adaptation over reported "creative differences."

The trade paper says Josh Brolin is expected to star as the titular character, however, the actor has been quoted stating he hasn't committed to anything. Warner Bros. is now seeking a director in hopes production can begin in the spring.

Neveldine/Taylor also wrote the screenplay about the western anti-hero who wears a Confederate uniform and whose face is horribly scarred. As Taylor told us back in March the script has been complete and is severely deranged.

I wonder if Warner's replacement helmer will take to the pair's sensibilities or ask for a script overhaul.

If the directors of Crank left this project becuase Warner Bros. didn't want to respect the comic book, then I hope that the replacement helmer will take to the pair's sensibilities and try to be as respectful to the comic as closely as he or she can.
