FX vet Patrick Tatopoulos is directing this time out from a script by Danny McBride, Dirk Blackman and Howard McCain (Len Wiseman takes co-story credit). And no, Kate Beckinsale doesn't return as Seline, however, fans get hottie Rhona Mitra swinging big swords alongside returning cast members Michael Sheen and Kevin Grevioux. Here, Mitra and Sheen play Sonja and Lucian, respectively; they're lovers from opposite ends of the frontlines who confront Viktor's tyranny against the Lycans.

It's called "Rise of the Lycans" and not "Rise of Viktor and Sonja".

I loved lucian's character. Still pissed that he gets killed off in the first movie. But now we can find out more about his character!

Rhona Mitra was awesome in Doomsday, and I'm sure she'll be amazing in this movie, but if you remember Sonja had blond hair in all of the flash backs in the first movie...continuity people. And what about Amelia?

I'm tired of these so called "prequels". Move on with continuity. Looks like Hollywood is reaching the lowest point in writing and coming up with new ideas. There hasn't been creativity so far. Although I really liked the two first movies, I'm not interested in this one. The fact that we already know how this "war" is going to end up bores and sickens me.

What movie were you watching? Not only was Doomsday utter ****e, but Mitra was the worst thing about it!
Underworld should have stopped after the second one, it was poor but not a catastrophy. This has 'Scorpion King' and 'From Dusk Till Dawn 3: The Hangman's Daughter' written all over it.

There hasn't been a vampire movie worth a damn since Salem's Lot! Vampire and werewolf war? were the hell is Frakenstein then?
Oh yeah, the only Werewolf movie worth a damn was American Werewolf in London! And please don't say that "Silver Bullet" with that A55 Clown loser Corey Haim was good. That guy makes you want to get really S$$t faced drunk a choke on your own puke.

Without Kate Beckinsale as Seline, whats the point. The 1st movie was good, the 2nd got too deep, only thing that kept it going was Kate. I was so excited hearing of a 3rd Underworld movie and the thought of Kate in that sweet shape hugging spandex I had a chubber when it was announce. Then total disappointment finding out the hottest actress out there is cut from the film because they go with a prequel. Lets find out what Saline moved upward and onward to now that she had the power of both species. We know all we need to know about how it started.

are yall crazy? its showin viktor because he's the one that started this war. i'm sure that's why its showin him...he looks evil like he is the king and hes the one behind the war...i think its a good picture and concept...try to read between the lines before you make quick judgements.

I don't know why people get upset that is a prequel and not a sequel. They mentioned since the first movie that they wanted to make a trilogy and one of them was going to be a prequel. Plus why continue Selene's story I meant with the Elders and William dead there really isn't anybody left they can't fight against.

Zoosel, you are o morron... If you can see, theres two lycans in the the left and right side of viktor as a shadow meaning the rise of the lycans over viktor (The vampires).
