Sounds good. Seeing as I haven't seen the film yet, this edition seems the way to go.

Zombie Dude, I would suggest getting this one. It's a more true to life type of story. It really blows my mind that this was Craven's first horror.

it's about time for them to release this back out on dvd, i tried to get it a long time ago but couldn't find it, i can't wait

Strange, Mike - it's widely available. I believe MGM re-packaged its original special edition with a lenticular cover a few months ago. But this one will be the one to go with.

This version has a deleted scene on it?

I've seen what they left it. What the hell got cut out of this movie?

Never thought I'd be owning 2 copies of this movie, but its worth having the extras for this one.

Will pick this one up. I always meant to buy the DVD but I guess it's a good thing I didn't get around to it so I won't have to double-dip.

Thanks Rusty Shakleford. I'll be sure to check it out.

I remember buying this DVD earlier this year based on a friend's recommendation. Lent the film and never got it back. The other day I wanted to watch it so bad and didn't realize I didn't have it anymore. Now there's another edition coming out with deleted scenes, I can't wait to get it again. It seems February is going to be a great month for horror (something October 2008 failed to do).

can't really see what all the fuss is over this film it's good but it's no masterpiece

Thats kind of a weird cover...that shot of the girl doesn't look like it came from the film, but I could be wrong?

Posted by: Robgoblin on November 17, 2008 at 17:29:06

I can only stomach owning one copy. I love this movie but its very unpleasant to watch. Plus, I only want the movie, don't really care about special features unless it's something really special.

I hate that ****ing cover too! WTF!

I don't like the cover, either. It makes kids (who've never seen the movie) think they're getting a movie that was made last year! This is just as bad as the cover for the 2006 DVD of "Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Part 2"!

Posted by: Zombie Dude on November 17, 2008 at 18:33:31

I agree with Doctor Splatten. The new cover is misleading.

That cover gives you the impression that the film is Giallo...Not!
