Warner Bros. and Dark Castle's delayed thrilled Whiteout, based on the graphic novel by Greg Rucka, is expected in theaters on September 11, 2009.

Over the summer, at Comic-Con, one of the film's producers told us it was ready for an April '09. Obviously, things have changed.

Whiteout follows Carrie Stetko (Kate Beckinsale), a lone U.S. Marshal assigned to Antarctica whose investigation of the continent's first murder draws her into a shocking mystery. Now, with only three days until winter, Carrie must solve the crime before Antarctica is punged into darkness and she is stranded with the killer.

Gabriel Macht, Columbus Short and Alex O'Loughlin co-star.

I was looking forward to this, but in the meantime, it actually gives me a chance to go read the GN. I guess it is a good and bad thing.

You have got to be kiddin me!!!!! What the hell is this film being delayed for???!!! Now we have to wait approximately 11 more months to see this movie, instead of 6. Since this movie is being delayed once AGAIN, it better be one of the best movies of 2009. Those are my expectations on this movie.

Btw, Kate is the most beautiful woman on the planet.

I've been waiting for Whiteout since they first announced it and now I have to wait 11 more months; it's one of the best comics I've read. I hope it turns out well and does the comic justice. However, this seems to me to be a lack of faith in the film by the studio. Never a good sign. Of course, they're not the best judge of quality, are they?

btw, does anyone know how many times it's been delayed?

I was on set the day ShockTillYouDrop.com launched. That was April 18, 2007... Just to give you a sense of time.

Dark Castle showed footage at Comic-Con that year and only teased it with new poster art this year.

Sounds awesome. The wait sucks, but at least it's coming to theaters.
