Furlong Joins Night of the Demons Remake

Seven Arts Pictures announced the start of principal photography today on the remake of the '80 horror movies Night of The Demons in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Demons is directed by Adam Gierasch who co-wrote the screenplay with his partner of many years, Jace Anderson. Adam and Jace recently earned critical acclaim with Autopsy, the first feature film directed by Gierasch. Adam and Jace also co-wrote the horror film Mother of Tears.

As we first told you here, the film stars Shannon Elizabeth, Monica Keena and Diora Baird.

Joining them is actor Edward Furlong (Terminator 2: Judgement Day). Drac Studios is handling the FX.

"I couldn't be more excited!" says Gierasch. "Halloween, loud music, and demons; three of my favorite things! I'm chomping at the bit to work with Drac Studios to bring them to life for moviegoers in spades. We have got a great cast, spooky locations, and some of the best demons I have ever seen. It's time to rock!"

Edward Furlong is in the remake? I got to agree with kidshamrock- I think I'll pass on this one. Ever since he made that last Crow movie, his career has gone downhill in a hurry.

Considering Shannon and Diora have been cast they definitely went for the typical ditsy and very busty female lead on this one. Not sure where Monica fits in here, but i'm sure she has a wonderful personality. And I think that ever since Edward got busted trying to free those lobsters from the tank, his career was doomed.

People are way to judgemental on this site. Ok yeah they are remaking night of the demons so what it was a good scary movie. You have no idea how hard it is to put a movie together, the dedication, the money etc.... Edward Furlong is a good actor he has just had some badluck in cenima. But he like many have worked hard. People work hard to get a name for thereselves in this world so please respect that. While you are judging harshly how bad you think this movie is or how bad you want to pass why don't you stop and put yourself in these peoples shoes.Harsh words hurt. Not so fun being the monkey in the cage huh. I for one am all for this remake. I wish I had something do do with helping with the film.

Well it might sound good to some of you but personally I dont think they should of picked Shannon Elizabeth to play the role. They should of picked the girl that played in The Craft the evil one. Now she would of been the perfect ANGELA FRANKLIN not Angela Feld.. sorry Mr. Director you really changed it alot. Im a True NOTD's fan. And its not even at HULL HOUSE.. Is is build on top of a River.. NO I dont think so.. So I will check it out when it come out on DVD. Maybe Rob Zombie should of Directed the Remake of NIGHT OF THE DEMONS, much better Im sure he would of done a brilliant job. So good Luck with the new one.. cause Im no down with it at all.

Ahhh and BTW I have a page of Angela Franklin from NOTD's on myspace and it Rokks.. and all the people on my page feel the same way..But Im sure they will check it out and let me know..

Sometimes Remakes really Sux!

I know you dont care WTF I said but I say what I mean and I mean what I say.

Ciao

I Think they shouldve went with an unknown actress to play Angela. Yes, Fairuza Balk (The Craft) would be a good flick but I don't think she likes playing roles like this anymore.

What the ****? That is the worst idea I've ever heard...why can't people make their own ****ing movies instead of making great movies into ****ty ones. I hate this generation.

I don't really know how I feel about this remake. I, too, am a Night of the Demons fan. It scared the s**t out of me as a little kid. But yeah, I do think the director f***** up by not having it at Hull House. I do like that Edward Furlong is trying to make a comeback, cuz ever since T2 I thought he was a good actor. One thing I hope they don't do is have a lot of computer animation bull****. That's what's messing up horror films these days, in my opinion. Yeah, a little is pretty cool, but don't rely completley on it. That's why I think that there are no really scary horror movies like old horror movies and Night of the Demons is a prime example. The Demons are all people with kick ass make-up on, not computerized, fake Demons. There is nothing like make-up effects and blood and guts made from home to really make the audience feel the realism. I'm open to any criticisms about my comments.

I can assure you that Shannon Elizabeth is a good actor. I sat across from her at the 2008 WSOP and she did very well for herself. Especially since she is not a professional. I haven't looked into the other characters in the film but I think it's going to be a good flick. You guys are wrong about there not being any good horror flicks: House of 1000 Corpses, Halloween, Unborn, Exorcist the Beginning. There have been quite a few and lets not forget that Halloween was a remake. The reason why its so hard to make a "GOOD" horror movie is because all the good ones have already been made (used story line). The only way to make a good horror flick now is to remake and old one and add your own spin to it (directors like individuality and creativity). I think much of the remake will be very similar to the original, while some of it is very different (but in a good way). Yes I'm sure those of you who are dead set on the original will be able to pick this film apart, but you can do that with even the best of films. Oh and regarding your comment about Furlong. I have one name for you, Robert Downey Jr. He was as washed up as you can get in Hollywood before he cleaned himself up and got a role in a little movie called Ironman and grossed more $$$ than you or I could even physically be able to count too. So lets not be so judgmental. Lets give the film a shot, shall we?
