i can't wait for this movie. i LOVE Aja and all his films. i guess it's better they want to do this film correctly and take the time to do it right. even if it doesn't come out on July 24th, it could still make it for the summer sometime. i'll be there 1st show on opening day either way.

I love high tension and the hills have eyes remake and I'd expect nothing less for Pirahna. 3-D B movies getting a US Theatrical run! It's like living in the 70s, even though I was born in the 80s.

"However, it does call into question whether Piranha 3-D will make its July 24th release date."
If principle photography is only starting in April, there is no chance that it will be coming out anywhere NEAR July. What? They're going to shoot the whole film and do all the post work in three months? Ain't happening.

The cool thing about 3D is that they won't be able to release this on DVD or even Blu-Ray. Sure, there will be both but it'll be a useless 2D version, similar to the current retail versions of BEOWULF. Of course there's also no way people can record the 3D with their cellphones for torrent downloading. Only downside is that whenever you want to watch the film again (in 3D) you'll have to find a festival or revival theater that's showing it.
