Mothman Helmer Back with Solace

Mark Pellington is attached to direct New Line's Solace. Pellington's credits include The Mothman Prophecies and Arlington Road. He recently helmed Henry Poole is Here.

The story follows a doctor with psychic abilities who meets his match in a serial killer with similar psychic mojo. The cat and mouse game they play gets a bit complicated when they can match each other's move.

Sean Bailey and Ted Griffin initially penned the script, then Jamie Vanderbilt stepped in to do some work. Contrafilm's Beau Flynn and Tripp Vinson will produce.

Pellington is incredibly talented and it's a shame he's been hamstrung by bad luck and personal tragedy in recent years. I'm anxious to see more (genre or borderline genre) films directed by him but I'm not sure we really need another serial killer flick.

I'm interested in seeing how this turns out, I remember that a few years back New Line was considering reworking the script into a sequel to Seven.
