Screamfest '08: Splinter Takes Centerpiece Slot

Toby Wilkins' creature feature Splinter will screen at this year's annual Screamfest Horror Film Festival in Hollywood.

Founder Rachel Belofsky tells ShockTillYouDrop.com the Splinter is the event's centerpiece film and will premiere Wednesday, October 15th. Magnet Releasing has positioned it for a theatrical run starting on Halloween.

Paulo Costanzo (Road Trip) and Jill Wagner (Blade: The Series) star as a couple whose camping trip goes awry when they find themselves kidnapped by a criminal on the run. Matters worsen when a voracious parasite traps them in a remote gas station.

Screamfest runs from October 10th - 19th at the Mann's Chinese 6 theaters in Hollywood. Keep it here for more film announcements as they trickle in!

Supposedly Eric Red's new pic, 100 Feet, will be making an appearance as well.

Hopefully Trick R' Treat ends up on the roster.
