It's related to the original because it's the same writer/director. Some of the original cast also return. You might say it's closer to being an official "sequel" than the two straight-to-video films (which I loved).
I didn't bother watching the trailer, but I'm not surprised if it looks bad. Apart from the ending, it's the generous sprinkling of cheese that made the first one such a cult movie. And Isaac Hayes wrapped this long before his South Park departure

the first one was a real movie... it had ups downs.. suspense.. even a love story in the middle somewhere.. but i feel that the ending was by far one of the most suprising and awesome endings ever.. you dont see it comming the first time around..and for the time it was filmed.. the fx were pretty good.. made a believer out of me.... the cook getting his face burnt off was really nice...
as for the 2nd and 3rd....''unhappy campers''.. was by far the most shocking and gory....and it had good catchy one liners...the best was the latrine scene "Whats else is in there??... leeches just like you!".. love it
"teenage wasteland".. was expected to be a full on cheeze fest.. thats why i love it... its blaintly full of bad jokes and worse acting.. and not so much gore.. although most of the kill scenes take place during the day.. very kool
my thoughts are that this remake/sequel/whatever will be full of hot chicks.. think i saw a fat kid somewhere.. throw some metro-sexual guys in the mix and my personal fav .. a trans-sexual angela (hopefully).. but i guess we'll see when it comes out..

lol this sucks balls.... barney could make a better sequel than this piece of garbage..... and its stupid how they moved it from a girl doing the killings to a guy. that was the most hilarious and best party of the first movie
