Three Int'l Posters for Mirrors

Source:20th Century Fox
August 5, 2008

Fox's publicity team must have had fun with this one; the theme of using "mirrors" for an ad campaign opens the door to a wide spectrum of interpretations. That said, what you see below are three international one-sheets for Alex Aja's Mirrors - all vastly different from one another, especially the U.S. poster. Which one do you prefer? Comment below!

...Seriously, do they just not know what they're doing?

This could have an ESPECIALLY creative, artistic horror film poster. It could of been imaginative. Come on, guys. What are you getting paid for?

Here, it didn't take me that long to come up with this:

Kiefer's character walking down this decrepit hallway in that building he's guarding with some of the surroundings being multiple mirrors above and around him, in a long shot like http://blogs.indiewire.com/twhalliii/hallway.jpg You see there, how the interiors get smaller and smaller as they extend onward to the eye. Each reflection doing something seemingly sinister or seemingly unusual. His face as he walks not blankly staring at us in an emotionless image, but shrouded in darkness, tilt down, obviously tormented.

Guess what? That would intrigue people and they'd actually be curious about what it's about, and maybe even see it. On top of that, it's using poster design as an art form again. Gee, I thought that was the whole point.

I wouldn't see this, as it's crap. I got it from one of the co-stars that it's a horribly-executed film, completely misdirected and he's embarrassed to have taken part in it.

Also, he says Kiefer is a complete tool.
