FWoH '08: Pumpkinhead: SE Progress Report

Source:Ryan Rotten
April 26, 2008

Last August, ShockTillYouDrop.com broke the news that DVD producer Michael Felsher was working with MGM to bring about a long-desired DVD special edition of Stan Winston's superb monster film Pumpkinhead.

Shock caught up to Felsher yesterday at Fangoria's Weekend of Horrors and the producer tells us he's very much at work in the pumpkin patch culling together interviews for the disc. Felsher has or will be recording fresh interviews with actors Lance Henriksen and Brian Bremer (who plays Bunt) and Tom Woodruff and Alec Gillis over at Amalgamated Dynamics, Inc. (both Stan Winston protégés). He also confirms viewers at home will finally see the 1988 film in a widescreen transfer.

No word yet on street date.

Felsher has two discs coming out in the next few months: George A. Romero's Diary of the Dead and a 40th Anniversary Edition of Night of the Living Dead.

I loved the original Pumpkinhead, and am looking forward to the SE dvd. When it came out it was different from everything else.

This is my favorite horror movie throw the dolby digital 5.1 out & put in DTS 6.1 ES as the sound for it. This will bring out the sound in crystal clarity & with the new ws transfer & loaded features will blow the competition away. Anything less will not do such a good movie justice. I hope Mr. Felsher gives this movie the treatment that I have described. This is too good a movie to just do a hurry up job on.
