MGM and 360 Pictures have tapped writer Sean Hood to pen the forthcoming sequel Stigmata 2, which we first broke the news to you about here. Sources tell us he was brought on board pre-strike and development will continue once the WGA and AMPTP reach a tentative agreement.

Hood's no stranger to sequels having contributed to Halloween: Resurrection, Cube 2: Hypercube and The Crow: Wicked Prayer. He later teamed with Lucky McKee for the oddly enjoyable "Masters of Horror" episode "Sick Girl."

The next "Stigmata" film is expect to head direct-to-DVD. We'll update you with plot details as they come in.
