We won't claim "exclusive" on this because it appears a scooper is making the rounds and informing other outlets, however, ShockTillYouDrop.com has received word that Marcus Nispel is closing in on Platinum Dunes' Friday the 13th project.

Nispel helmed the Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake for the Dunes boys back in 2003 and has since directed Pathfinder with Karl Urban. Our source says that his deal is close to complete and that shooting is expected to begin this winter. Nispel will be working from a script by Damian Shannon and Mark Swift - a scoop we broke in September here, more details on the other end of that link. Michael Bay, Brad Fuller and Andrew Form are producing.
