When rumors began swirling around an Alexandra Aja-directed redo of Pet Sematary, a question on a lot of minds was: What happened to that Maniac remake Aja exclusively revealed to this site many years back?
Still fermenting, apparently. Bloody-Disgusting learned Franck Khalfoun will sit in the director's chair. Aja will produce with Grégory Levasseur. Khalfoun's previous credits include the Aja-produced P2 and 2009's Wrong Turn at Tahoe. The original 1980 Maniac was directed by William Lustig and starred Joe Spinell as a NYC psychopath.
