Anchor Bay Films has picked up rights in the U.S., Canada, Australia, the U.K. and New Zealand for I Spit On Your Grave, the remake of Meir Zarchi's 1978 cult exploitation flick.
The new version directed by Steven R. Monroe stars Sarah Butler, Daniel Franzese, Chad Lindberg, Rodney Eastman and Andrew Howard. It tells the story of a city girl who rents an isolated cabin in the country to write a novel and becomes the victim of a horrible assault and rape. She later seeks out vengeance on her attackers.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Anchor Bay Films will give it a targeted theatrical release in the fall, followed by a DVD release in the first quarter of 2011.
