EXCL: The Stone House Cast Details

September 17, 2007

Director Alex Turner (Dead Birds) gave ShockTillYouDrop.com a ring to proudly announce principal photography has wrapped on The Stone House - his latest feature film we first brought to your attention here. With that, we're now able to inform you that the film stars Brendan Miller, Shane West (pictured, The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen), Aldis Hodge ("Friday Night Lights"), Leonard Roberts ("Heroes"), Callum Blue ("Dead Like Me"), JK Simmons (the "Spider-Man" trilogy), Theo Rossi (1-18-08) and Noel Gugliemi (Evilution).

When Shock visited the set last month, "House" scribe Simon Barratt told us the idea for the story arrived shortly after the U.S. invasion of Iraq. At the time, media headlines began to center on the unfortunate destruction of museums in the area. "They were talking about all of these 1,000-year-old artifacts that had been broken, stolen or had gone unaccounted for. It just seemed like a great idea to do something supernatural. We're so ignorant of the culture we don't know what museums to protect and don't know about the supernatural mythology of that region. We're over there messing things we don't know about. So, the basic story here is these soldiers destroy this statue out of boredom and the next day they get a visitor." What spins from that is a thriller some crew members on set related to John Carpenter's The Thing.

Out visit to The Stone House was an eventful one, to say the least, as I got a chance to step in the line of fire and act as a soldier, albeit briefly, in the film. Below you'll find a pic - that's me cowering, as directed, on the right. More from the set very soon!
