This summer writer-director Bryan Bertino takes horror back to the basics with
The Strangers for Rogue Pictures.
A few months back, at ShoWest, a pretty eerie teaser poster took its witnesses back to the '70s and '80s with its nostalgic depiction of a porcelain-masked killer wielding a big nasty knife. The poster included generic "folds" and a classic white frame. Since its debut we've learned the poster was merely a piece of art to generate excitement at the industry event and was not the final one-sheet. Nevertheless, Rogue seems to be displaying an understanding of what Bertino has on his hands - a classic survival tale of a young couple fending off a trio of masked strangers.
Entertainment Weekly featured the film in its summer preview last week with a pic of co-star Scott Speedman (the "Underworld" films) accompanied by an axe-wielding fiend with a bag over his head. Thanks to a fellow Shock reader, we've now got a pic of leading lady Liv Tyler suffering her own torment, check it out below.
