Resident Evil: Afterlife Back to 2010
Source: Shock Till You Drop
January 11, 2010
A few months back, we reported that Paul Anderson's Resident Evil: Afterlife was moved back to January 2011 in order to give the director more time for the computer process needed to release the movie in 3D. (You can read those original stories here and here.)
At the time, actress Milla Jovovich, who has played Alice in all four movies, claimed on her Twitter feed that the release date change wasn't definite. The move also would have put the fourth installment up against MGM's own 3D horror flick Cabin in the Woods, forcing them to split digital 3D screens. It looks like Anderson won't be needing that extra time for the FX and 3D after all, as ShockTillYouDrop has learned that things are back on track for Resident Evil: Afterlife to be released not on September 24 as originally slated, but two weeks earlier on September 10!
The September release will continue the "Resident Evil" tradition as both of the last two installments of the franchise were released in the month to solid success.

These movies blow! They are an insult to the games and should not be made anymore.
Posted by: Wesker_1984 on January 11, 2010 at 11:55:16
Just finish off the story with Jovo***** and reboot it into a true Resident Evil movie with the same plot and characters of the games!
I want to see the mansion incident with the STARS ALPHA TEAM as the main characters! Not just a blatant copy with new characters out of place who stole the place of the true heroes!

Ryan, so why other movieblogs don't post this "exciting" news, if it was confirmed, huh?

I personally like the movies. For those people who want them to closely follow the game, just play the game. These are different.
I bet you were the same people who got mad at Super Mario Bros because they were able to walk in more than one direction.
If you don't like these movies then make your own.

Can't speak for the editorial stances of other movie sites. We get the news, check the facts, report. Done. Got a phone call from my rep, said we were dead-on. You need more validation by other sites reporting the same thing?

Love these movies even thoe they are nothing like the games. Once you get past that you can enjoy them. I enjoyed this bit of News beings as Resident Evil After Life is probly one of my most anticipated movies of 2010. Its pure zombie popcorn, ok. Thank you STYD for posting this when other sites haven't. To the Zombie fan this is real news.

I see "other" sites are now posting... The sheep follow whatever you guys do.
Great job on breaking this scoop.

L-****ing-J, if you are so sure that what SHOCK/Ryan posts is "fake news" then go somewhere else!! every major horror website is posting on this awesome news. try stop making a douche out of yourself!

guest something good is gonna happen this year.

Ryan, yes, i need. If it hasn't showed on any great movieblogs, my opinion: it must be the fake. Just for example: Nor Hollywood Reporter, nor Variety, nor SlashFilm, nor ComingSoon, nor Latino Review, nor Empire, nor IESB, nor IGN, nor AICN, nor Collider, nor Joblo, nor MTV Movie blog confirmed this information, so that must give the meal for brain. Even on Milla's twitter-page has no signs of this.
It's not the first fake-news, just watch one about "The first TV-spot of Wolfman": on official apple page of Wolfman, there's no TV-Spots, only trailers. Real first movie's tvspot debuted on FaceBook.
Winchester, djblack1313, i don't care about any pathetic horror-websites, i'm only read the mass-reader movieblogs.

Fine, man. Don't know what your beef is. I've been at the game for ten years now and go through the proper channels to report factual news. Our past news reports and breaks have been picked up by all of the major sites you've cited in the past, so if our reputation - which is pretty damn good - isn't good enough for YOU, oh well... Have fun elsewhere. And, all of the sites you've brought up have fallen into false news reports. Has that pushed you away from them as well?
Shock was the first to break the news on Resident Evil 4, the first to break the 3-D scoop AND the change in release date when it was shifted to 2011. We're not wrong here.
Why linger if you don't go to horror sites? Or are you a messenger from another site simply here to stir the bull****?

Hey, L... It's at Box Office Mojo now. Can't get more legit than that, douche.
