Perhaps I spoke too soon in my MIA Horror Checklist for the year.
It appears Anchor Bay Entertainment's The New Daughter, a supernatural thriller starring Kevin Costner, is opening in an extremely limited release tomorrow.
Our man in Austin, Texas tells us it's playing down there. Upon further inspection, I found it will run at the Dobie Theatres.
Co-starring Pan's Labyrinth's Ivana Baquero, Costner plays a single father who moves to a farm with his two kids after a painful divorce. Soon, his daughter starts behaving ominously, and dad begins to suspect that the burial mound in a nearby field might have something to do with it. Gold Circle produced.
Peculiar this one is getting dumped. It's the second genre film of the season, behind Blood Creek, to get released with little to no notice.
Look for a review soon...
