Rob Zombie Taking a Break from Horror?

November 24, 2009

Time on the road seems to be giving Rob Zombie some clarity. He's out on the "Hellbilly Deluxe 2" tour, promoting the eponymous album that hits stores on February 2.

Talking to the Chicago Tribune, Zombie says his next film won't be horror. "If you go down that road too far, it's hard to break out of it. I don't want to get stuck with anything. I want the freedom to do what I want to do."

On the eve of Halloween II's release, Zombie announced he'd do a remake of The Blob. However, it's looking like he's really trying to get Tyrannosaurus Rex made.

Rob who?

In Zombiespeak this means his next movie will be Halloween 3-D.

Hahaha what is he going to do? A drama involving hillbilly trailer trash cursing and getting butchered by other hillbilly trailer trash. You need talent to have range and Zombie doesn't have talent.

Yeah, I love Rob and was impressed by House of 1000 Corpses and thought he was going to go places when The Devil's Rejects was an even better movie. But then he did Halloween and I found out he's a one trick pony and that really broke my heart. I don't fully understand why he thinks we're all afraid of hillbilly white trash.

I hope the break jangles some creativity free.

Good. A lot of his films are looking wayyyy too similar. A solid heavy violant action film maybe perfect plus t rex looks way better than piranna or blob remake.

His original content is much much better

White trash, white trash. I can't tolerate so much swearing; I'm too sensitive. I hate Rob Zombie. I hate all movies that do not follow cookie-cutter regualtions. OOPS, I just wet my diapers.

@ Dutch

Your sarcastic comment has one glaring defect. Robs movies are cookie cutter, mindless bull hockey, with excessive swearing thrown in there. Movies about random rednecks using every dirty word in the book isn't mind blowing originality, it's lack of creativity at it's worst. Zombies movies are cookie cutter movies with sprinkles thrown on top, nothing new, nothing original.

Well that's news worth celebrating! Zombie is a terrible film maker. He's not much of a musician either. Can't he just go and do oil painting or something so we never have to hear from him ever again? Awful- and to think Uwe Boll gets so much stick when this guy is easily as bad. Moronically brutal films with absolutely nothing to say. That they even let him near a Carpenter classic is shameful behaviour! Good! I hope he never make another film, let alone a horror (or straight to DVD as it's quickly becoming known in the UK).

It's insulting that Rob Zombie is even associated with horror.

I hears he's prepping a Jaws remake, but he's having a hard time putting tattoos on the shark.
